President Donald Trump surprised supporters gathered in Washington, D.C. for a rally, flying overhead aboard Marine One on his way to New York.
Crowds that had gathered to protest the results of the election showing Democrat Joe Biden as the winner of the presidential race were thrilled with Trump’s appearance in the sky as he departed the White House on Saturday. Trump supporters had come together on the National Mall to take part in a “Jericho March” prayer rally.
Shortly after noon, Trump left the White House aboard the presidential helicopter on his way to the Army-Navy game at West Point. Marine One flew over the National Mall, setting off cheers from thousands of supporters below.
The rallies took place just two days before the Electoral College is set to meet and formally vote for the 46th president.

Michael Flynn, the former national security adviser, was speaking form the stage at the moment the president flew overhead.
“That’s pretty cool,” the retired U.S. Army lieutenant general who was recently pardoned by Trump, said as he spoke to the crowds outside the Supreme Court. “Imagine being able to jump in a helicopter and go for a joyride around Washington, D.C. — I love it. I love the fact that he does that.”

Conservative radio host Eric Metaxas and Mike Lindell, CEO and founder of My Pillow, are also expected to be part of the rally on Saturday.

Earlier, the president had tweeted his surprise at news of the planned gatherings, promising that he would soon “be seeing” his supporters. Trump has been slamming the Supreme Court on Twitter after it rejected a lawsuit filed by Texas which sought to overturn the election results in four battleground states.
“Wow! Thousands of people forming in Washington (D.C.) for Stop the Steal. Didn’t know about this, but I’ll be seeing them! #MAGA,” the president tweeted.

Marine One’s flyover of supporters in Freedom Plaza came at the perfect time as they were singing the national anthem.

The president continues to assert that he won the election “in a landslide.” His supporters agree and continue to demand justice amid an election fraught with irregularities, illegalities and corruption. Democrats can keep claiming their candidate got the votes to secure a victory, but Joe Biden never once pulled in a crowd like Donald Trump.
