Acclaimed conservative commentator Rush Limbaugh warned Friday that the left has begun using the “kook card” like the “race card” to impugn the credibility of President Donald Trump’s 2020 election fraud and impropriety allegations.
The trick, he explained, is to just discredit every piece of evidence, be it witness testimony or surveillance footage, by saying it’s from “Kookville.”
“We’ve got voter fraud. We’ve got reams of evidence. We’ve got video. We have all kinds of evidence that there is massive voter fraud. Our Constitution has been undermined — and here we come along, and we show evidence. We’ve got video,” Limbaugh said.
“We’ve got shocking video of suitcases being pulled out from underneath tables with 24,000 ballots, fake ballots. This is called Kookville to point this out. Sorry, how do you avoid being a kook? I think it’s the latest attempt that the left is making to, shall I say, discredit or impugn those of us on the right. It’s like playing the ‘race card.'”
The “race card” has been used for ages to discredit legitimate points and arguments concerning illegal immigration, Islamic terrorism, black criminality, etc.
And now, surprise surprise, every allegation and theory concerning alleged voter fraud and impropriety– including the majority of which “have a trace of validity to them” — is automatically being dismissed via the “kook card.”
“The left is doing everything it can to make every one of them appear to be right out of Kookville. So people that believe these things have got to run the risk — or weather the storm — of being called a kook because that’s how they’re trying to quit all this,” Limbaugh said.
It doesn’t help, he added, that establishment Republicans are so desperate to not be associated with anything involving alleged “kooks, racism, bigotry, homophobia, whatever.” As a result, most of them have remained dead silent about the fraud issue.

“I’m just telling you that there aren’t a whole lot of mainstream Republicans who want to be thought of as kooks,” he continued.
Yet these same establishment Republicans ought to know by now that it’s all a ruse — the same ruse the left has been pulling for decades to silence criticism and prevent meaningful debate, according to Limbaugh.
“They’ve got nothing else. They can’t… Like when it comes to issues, they cannot defeat us on issues. So they don’t even try to out-argue us on issues. What do they do? They destroy our credibility. They impugn us,” he explained.
“They call us racist, sexist, bigot, whatever. Now they’re gonna add kook to it, and they’re gonna apply kook to as many mainstream conservatives as they can. It’s what the left does.”
They twist everything, including his own words. He’d prefaced his observations about the left’s tactics by jokingly offering the media a pull quote that he knew they’d take out of context.
“Can I have the attention of the mainstream media? This is a pull quote. You’re gonna love this quote from me. Mainstream media, stop what you’re doing. Here comes the pull quote. Ready? Three, two one: ‘As a conservative, it’s getting harder and harder to not look like a kook.’ Just kidding!” he’d said.
Yet here’s how the Daily Mail reported the pull quote: “‘As a conservative, it’s getting harder and harder to not look like a kook,’ said Limbaugh, speaking on his radio show.”
The “just kidding” part just miraculously disappeared.
The report’s headline was just as deceptive:
Stop the chaos: Rush Limbaugh says Trump supporters are coming across as ‘kooks’ https://t.co/XycsOnfYdw
— Daily Mail US (@DailyMail) December 6, 2020
Limbaugh’s point clearly wasn’t that Trump supporters are kooks but rather that Trump supporters are being falsely portrayed by the media as kooks to impugn them.
“I’m telling you right now, if a Republican, any of them, had predicted before the 2016 election any of the deep state schemes that have taken place in the last four years — the coup, the corruption of the FBI — if somebody came along and predicted that, they would have been called a kook,” he said.
“Kookiness, as far as the left making allegations, has been normalized now, which is — sadly — my only point.”
Because of the media’s deceitful reporting, he continued, it’s imperative that the president’s legal team step up their game, pronto.
“They need daily press conferences. All next week they need clear graphs, they need charts and graphs up there to show how they cheated. Six out of 10 Americans believe fraud occurred. We need seven or eight of 10 to get public support,” Limbaugh said.
“Time is of the essence here for Trump to do whatever it is he’s gonna do. We’re running out of time, folks. We got 10 days until the Electoral College assembles and votes. State officials will certify — officially — the votes and the states will then choose the electors to vote in accordance with their state totals.”
He added that “either a judge will have to throw out the vote and order recounts, or the state legislatures are gonna have to step in and pick new electors” before the Safe Harbor Deadline arrives and the Electoral College votes.
So far none of this has occurred.
