U.S. Marine veteran Johnny “Joey” Jones delivered a scathing message for critics of the American flag which he said has been politicized during President Donald Trump’s time in office.

The military analyst for Fox News called out anyone “so weak-minded” that they actually believe the flag is divisive, telling the “Fox and Friends” hosts this week that these critics are the ones who are “radical.”

Jones, who lost both of his legs in an IED explosion in Afghanistan 10 years ago, reacted to a Politico article describing “How Anti-Trumpers Are Reclaiming the American Flag.”

The article claimed that “foes of Trump have been embracing the flag” now that they think that Democrat Joe Biden has won the presidential election. Although the “politicization of the stars and stripes predates Trump,” the article contends, the president “has managed to take the divide further than ever,” and claimed that it is “not surprising that a master of branding would find a way to turn symbols into weapons.”

“Listen, I fought a war under President Bush and President Obama. I wouldn’t vote for either one of them today. And I’m sure both of them left this country more divided than they found it. But neither one of them inspired me to disassociate myself with my love for this country,” Jones said on “Fox & Friends.”

“I think this is a ridiculous premise. If you are so weak-minded and fragile of heart that you can’t love this country because of who the president is,” the retired Staff Sergeant added.

“You need to sit down, because if you are so scared to stand up for what you believe in when you are not winning, then you are not the person this country needs to fight for freedom or do what’s right or stand in the gap while the rest of us are looking for you to lead or anything of that nature,” Jones said.

The Politico piece delivered outrageous claims that blamed Trump for the antagonism towards the American flag, declaring that the president “acted out his own embrace of the flag in a way that was both knowing and grotesque” while, in another bewildering line, claimed the flag was brandished at pro-Trump rallies “as a statement of division” by groups like the “far-right Proud Boys .”

Jones focused on the inane premise during his Fox News interview.

“I think this is more cannon fodder for the partisan side of things than reality. And I just couldn’t imagine any one of sound mind thinking the American flag doesn’t stand for them because of who the president is,” Jones said.

“If you associate the American flag with Donald Trump, if somehow Donald Trump has become synonymous with the American flag, that’s because his political foes have literally burned it, turned it upside down, taken it down, knelt in front of it, rather than honored it and completely disassociated themselves from it,” he told the Fox News hosts.

“This isn’t like Donald Trump has hijacked the American flag, when only one political party still understands the necessity of patriotism,” he added.

“That’s not up to Republicans or conservatives to fix that problem for them,” Jones contended.

“But, I will tell you this. You know, if you think that the American flag is divisive, you’re the radical. Not whomever you think that flag is associated with,” he said, adding that Old Glory “doesn’t care what your politics are.”

“Old Glory cares that you do your part that you fight for freedom and justice and that you take on your shared responsibility in keeping this country free and what it means for everyone,” he continued.

“And that means fighting for what you believe in, even if I don’t agree with that it certainly doesn’t mean cowering, giving up, taking it down and walking away. I don’t know what that is, but that’s not America,” Jones concluded. “Listen, if that’s who you are, be thankful your birth right guarantees you more than your nerve will. And that’s a piece of this American pie.”
