CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins was raked over the coals after posting a smug attempt to criticize President Trump.

Collins set off a wave of backlash on social media where she was called out for hypocrisy, arrogance and generally proving, once again, how base and petty the liberal media can be. The CNN reporter posted a selfie photo of herself wearing a protective face mask, and backed by others in the “crew” at the White House seeking accolades for just doing their jobs.

“The crew that got President Trump to answer his first questions in over three weeks,” Collins wrote in the caption with her photo shared on Twitter on Thanksgiving evening.

“Proud to be part of it. Happy Thanksgiving!” she added in the tweet which apparently referred to the Q&A reporters had with the president Thursday after he spoke with U.S. military leaders overseas.

If Collins thought “the crew” would be praised for their heroic reporting, she was greatly mistaken.

“So brave. Just like Normandy,” conservative commentator and writer Jeremy Frankel tweeted.

“Narcissism to a T, as exhibited by our esteemed White House press corps,” Newsbusters’ Curtis Houck wrote on Twitter.

“From an optics perspective in terms of an argument around objectivity, this wasn’t a good idea,” The Hill columnist Joe Concha tweeted.

“Sadly, this is the highlight of her journalism career,” author and radio host Todd Starnes tweeted.

“Also the crew that let Joe Biden not answer a single difficult question the entire campaign. You have nothing to be proud of, Kaitlan. You’re not a journalist, you’re an activist,” Trump campaign attorney Jenna Ellis wrote.

Many Twitter users wondered if Democrat Joe Biden would continue to get a pass from the same liberal media.

“Where is the photo of the crew that can get Joe Biden to answer one?” Spectator’s Stephen Miller asked.

“Too bad the Biden press pool hardly ever does this…,” former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer noted.

And if Collins didn’t get enough heat for the arrogance of the group of reporters, the fact that they were crowded together for a photo while their Democrat leaders were screeching about social distancing and cancelling Thanksgiving Day travel made the post even more worthy of the mockery.

Trump advocate and retired U.S. Marine Corps Gunnery Sergeant, Jessie Jane Duff, gave Collins one more brutal trip to the woodshed.
