Joe Biden and other Democrats calling for unity and the nation to “come together” are getting major backlash from the other side of the political divide.
With a premature assumption that the 2020 presidential election has gone in their favor, the left is hypocritically reaching out with shallow platitudes about healing and national unity. But President Trump’s supporters are not buying what they are selling as Biden’s Twitter account has been touting a new era dawning and calling for an end to the division which the Democrats have fueled for the last four years.
“It’s time to put aside the partisanship and the rhetoric designed to demonize one another,” Biden tweeted on Tuesday, declaring that the “election is over,” even though it has not been certified and Trump has not conceded.
“We have to come together,” he added, setting off a wave of commentary on his tone-deaf call on Twitter.

The founder of the #WalkAway campaign, Brandon Straka, provided a helpful to-do list for Biden to follow on his quest to make nice with more than 70 million Americans who voted to keep Trump in office.
The outspoken Trump supporter directed Biden and Democrats to acknowledge and “apologize for violence & damage done to Trump supporters.” He also called on the former vice president to admit Trump “is not a racist or bigot.”
Biden called Trump a “racist” during the first presidential debate as they locked horns over Black Lives Matter protests. Back in July, he slammed Trump as the country’s “first” racist president and he called out the president as xenophobic when he instituted a ban on China travel in the early days of the coronavirus pandemic.
Straka continued his list to Biden, telling him and his Democrat cohorts they need to also denounce Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and “democratic socialists & progressives.” The list also included the need to call “for transparent audit of 2020 election.”
1. Acknowledge & apologize for violence & damage done to Trump supporters.
2. Admit Trump is not a racist or bigot.
3. Denounce Antifa.
4. Denounce BLM.
5. Call for transparent audit of 2020 election.
6. Denounce democratic socialists & progressives.Otherwise, fuck off. https://t.co/TYWwrHf8Y2

Straka’s list had an added message: “Otherwise, f–k off.”
The last sentence should have been the first sentence, otherwise, I agree.

Democrats have suddenly been preaching for the nation to come together, after spending the last four years immersed in every kind of meltdown, railing against the president and targeting his supporters. A potential Biden administration has suddenly caused an about-face that is not being embraced by those who see the hypocrisy.
Actress and activist Alyssa Milano set off a firestorm from all sides after she said she would “like to extend an olive branch to Trump supporters.”
“They are making overtures over there on the Left. We are hearing a lot about healing and unity and coming together and all kinds of other stuff that we’re supposed to expect as we move into the Hallmark Christmas movies time of the year,” comic and PJ Media associate editor Stephen Kruiser wrote in a column published Wednesday.
“I have one burning question: have these morons met themselves?” he asked rhetorically.
“The drooling sack of empty that they are calling President-Elect Biden has undergone an image makeover that’s most unbelievable. We’re now being told that he’s our kindly best pal and that he is going to put a big band-aid on all of the ORANGE MAN BAD hurt that our beloved country has suffered through,” Kruiser wrote.
“Somebody should tell the 25-year-old intern running Biden’s Twitter account to read up on the Obama era, and learn about the president and his vice-spaz who ran around for eight years projectile vomiting divisive rhetoric that sought to demonize every conservative in America,” he added.
Meanwhile, Straka’s challenge to Biden on Twitter was met with rounding applause and plenty of agreement.
