DC cops accused of sending Trump supporters through BLM crowds to be beaten

Supporters of President Donald Trump were assaulted multiple times by Black Lives Matter demonstrators after Washington, D.C. police refused to let them pass and directed them into a hostile crowd.

According to a video of the incident posted online, supporters of the president are seen pleading with Metro DC Police to allow them through so they could take a shorter path back to their hotel following Saturday’s “Million MAGA March,” which reportedly drew hundreds of thousands of people.

The video, which was posted on Twitter by Daily Caller reporter Jorge Ventura, shows a man who would identify himself online as Christopher Horne along with two other Trump supporters standing in front of a line of DC cops who were blocking people from walking through BLM Plaza near the White House.

The three were pleading with officers to let them through so they could walk a shorter distance to their hotel after they had already been harassed by BLM protesters, Horne noted in a tweet.

“Mr. President, I am the person who is being assaulted in this video. One is able to see at the beginning of the clip that I was begging the police to allow me to pass them to reach my hotel at the Hay-Adams, less than 500 yards from that point. They refused!” Horne wrote on Twitter, in response to President Trump’s tweeting of the video.

“WATCH: D.C. Cops Direct Trump-Supporters into Gauntlet of Protesters, Do Nothing When They Are Assaulted via @BreitbartNews. These thugs and lowlifes only stalked and attacked when most of the tens of thousands of people had left town. Ran away earlier!” Trump wrote.

Officers appear to refuse to allow the trio to pass through and direct them to go around, effectively sealing their fate.

“I’m the guy in your video that is seen pleading with the police to go to my hotel, the Hay-Adams, which was literally less than a 1/2 block from that corner,” Horne, an attorney, said in response to Ventura’s video post.

“I have always been a huge supporter of the police, but the DC police failed me today,” Horne continued. “It almost felt like it was a setup, to be honest.”

According to the video, Horne’s version of events appears accurate. No sooner than he and his two companions turn away from the line of officers, they are confronted by a man on a bike wearing black bloc as others begin bumping him menacingly while he wades through an encroaching crowd.

As they made their way across an intersection, a woman in an orange cap tried to steal a pro-Trump flag that Horne is carrying. She wasn’t able to grab it but nevertheless tries again as Horne’s friend pulls him out of a crowd of people who had begun to assault him.

Meanwhile, the woman in the orange cap circled back and sucker-punched Horne from behind, leading him to cry out at the crowd, “What’s the matter with you people?”

Then, two men dressed in black bloc attempt to prevent Horne from passing, but as he brushes by, one of them strikes him on the side of his head.

Breitbart reported that Horne and his small group reported the assaults to police at their hotel, but were told they needed proof in order to press charges.

Ventura reported that he provided his video evidence and that eventually, D.C. Police arrested five people including the woman in the orange cap.
