Erin Perrine, a spokeswoman for President Donald Trump’s reelection campaign, got into a heated back-and-forth with Fox News host Leland Vittert on Saturday after she was asked about the path to reelection given Joe Biden’s leads in key states.

In response to a question from Vittert about how President Trump can get to the 270 electoral votes needed to win reelection, Perrine began by noting that no state has certified its electoral votes yet.

“There are ballots still being counted across the country,” Perrine noted. “This is going to take some time to make sure we count every legal vote and do not count any illegal votes…”

Vittert interrupted at that point. “I understand…I understand that. We’ve heard that talking point for a long time,” he said as he went through vote totals in various states the president’s legal team continues to contest.

After essentially stating that Trump doesn’t have a chance to win, Vittert asked again, “What states is the president gonna pull ahead in?”

“Well Leland, thank you for allowing me the opportunity to speak, it seems like you’re not keen to let that happen today,” Perrine replied, which elicited a smirk from Vittert.

“Okay,” he said.

“There were almost 700,000 votes counted in Pennsylvania in opposition to the Constitution, and actual egregious error there where they violated the Equal Protection Act … nope, you’re gonna let me finish,” she said as it appeared that Vittert was about to interrupt again.

The scolding led Vittert to make a face.

“The equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution…almost 700,000 in Pennsylvania…”

Vittert attempted to interrupt again.

“…And in Michigan,” Perrine continued, “let’s have a conversation about that state as well where you have video from Fox News of individuals boarding up the windows, again, in violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment…”

Vittert interrupted again as the conversation devolved into little more than a shouting match as the host claimed his guest was talking “more” than he was.

Finally, Vittert asked: “Erin, what do you want to have happen to those 700,000 votes? The ballots are already mixed in…do you just want to have 700,000 votes deducted from Biden’s total?”

Perrine insisted that “a conversation happens” regarding those votes. “You’re trying to say this is done and over…”

“I’m not!” Vittert fired back. “I’m asking you where you’re going to find the legal votes to pull ahead!”

More crosstalk ensued at that point, with both host and guest drowning each other out.

“This is now my third time to try to get this answer out, the legal path ahead exists here because there are clear constitutional violations…” Perrine railed, which — again — led Vittert to cast a doubting look.

“Keep smirking, you know, making your faces and rolling your eyes Leland” — she says as he attempts to interrupt again.

As the two attempted to talk over each other again, Perrine notes, “I get it. I get it. You guys spent years trying to run up a Russia hoax against this president and trying to say this is over. The hypocrisy continues because you know what, Hillary Clinton said ‘don’t concede’ to Joe Biden, but now everybody wants to say that this is over for us. It’s ridiculous.”

From there, the conversation devolved into another shouting match, with Vittert again denying he is trying to say the race is over while Perrine countered that Fox News and other media outlets are already referring to Biden as “president-elect.”

“I don’t know who ‘you guys’ are,” Vittert finally says, before asking Perrine again where the campaign believes it will find 270 electoral votes.

“We are taking every legal avenue that exists in these states…” the Trump campaign spokeswoman says, prompting Vittert to dismissively respond, “Okay…”

That led Perrine to ask the host: “Here’s a question for you…for every Democrat and every talking head on the news: How much fraud is okay? How many dead people can vote and you’re okay with that? How many ballots will run through a machine multiple times and you’re okay with that?”

Vittert responded with a laugh, declaring, “I’m not okay with it!”

“No, it’s a serious question. We want to protect election integrity in the United States. And we said for months…”

Vittert cut off Perrine at that point, claiming that she wants to attack all media that disagree with her and the Trump campaign.

During Saturday’s “Million MAGA March,” thousands of Trump supporters marched from Freedom Plaza to the U.S. Supreme Court building, with many heard chanting, “Fox News SUCKS!” after the president himself has become increasingly critical of the network over the past several months.
