The Biden campaign bus incident in Texas, where a white SUV accompanying the bus collided with a pro-Trump pickup truck, played out in the media much like any number of police shootings or “peaceful protests.”
Democrats responded with an emotional, though apparently false accusation that the vehicle was “rammed” by the driver behind the wheel of the truck and the media was quick to splatter the narrative across the land.
The problem here is that the facts don’t support the accusation, as seen in footage capturing the incident, which clearly showed the SUV intentionally traveling into the lane occupied by the pro-Trump truck, and now the San Marcos Police Department appears to confirm what the eyes already knew.
“The at-fault vehicle may be the white SUV and the victim appears to be the black truck,” the department said in a statement. “Calls to the driver of the white SUV have gone unanswered and SMPD has not been contacted by the driver of the black truck. Since SMPD has not spoken to either driver at this time, additional investigation would be required to fully ascertain who was at fault.”

The driver of the truck did eventually contact the department and was instructed on how to file a crash report with the Texas Department of Transportation, according to KXAN.
The contact between the two vehicles took place on I-35, and the SMPD said that it appears to have taken place within their jurisdiction. The department also announced that they are working with the FBI to get more information about the collision — the FBI announced over the weekend it was launching an investigation of the incident.
The Biden-Harris bus reportedly contacted SMPD to request a police escort because of the MAGA caravan, but officers were hindered by excessive traffic and were not able to catch up with the bus before it left the jurisdiction.
The story took on added meaning for the media when President Trump weighed in, insisting that the pro-Trump caravan that decided to escort the Biden campaign bus did nothing wrong.
On the other hand, hysterical Democrats, like state Rep. Erin Zwiener, took to social media to charge that “a Trump Train … just rammed a vehicle on the I-35.”
It didn’t help matters that a Biden campaign spokesperson claimed that the caravan “attempted to slow the bus down and run it off the road,” according to Forbes — there has been no evidence to support the claim.
In fact, there is video suggesting the opposite –

Here’s a sampling of other responses to the latest developments in the story from Twitter:
The Trump Caravan was acting dumb getting close to the Harris bus. But the Harris staffer’s white SUV changing lanes to move into the Trump trucks lane and hit it was many times dumber. This was all obvious from available video.

At it’s core it’s a story about a traffic incident — who authorities think is at fault seems to be both new and contrary to a lot of the initial hot takes

Don’t worry the FBI is on it and already concludes Russia made the Trump supporter cause the accident because a dossier was created about it.

Well that’s why they HAVE insurance. It’s no problem at all really.

SUV merges left. Truck takes lane, moving closer to bus. Truck was centered in lane. SUV serves right to get back into lane/behind bus. Contact with front driver wheel.
I dunno about you, but if you merge into my lane and contact happens…I’m not at fault.

The white SUV tried to force it’s way in front of the truck. It lost.

I’m shocked! Shocked, I tell you!
Narrator: He wasn’t shocked.

“White SUV”. “Black truck”. Why does everything have to be racial.
