Celebrity digs in New York City like the luxury Chelsea apartment building will be protected by armed guards on Election Day, as the Big Apple and cities all across the country prepare for post-election violence.
One building, the London Terrace Towers, sent an email to residents saying, “As you are aware, government enforcement agencies across the country are making plans to control the possible civil unrest following the upcoming presidential election,” Page Six reported.
“Regardless of the outcome of [Tuesday’s] election, our concerns range from isolated violent incidents to a long stretch of mass protests, confrontations between extremists, and potential property damage,” the management email noted further.
As such, the management team will be hiring extra security guards for the duration, which Page Six notes will be “armed,” according to “insiders.”
A four-bedroom apartment in the London Terrace Towers currently that is currently on the market lists for $7.5 million. There is a two-bedroom unit currently available for $7,800 a month in rent.
Current and former residents of the complex include former first daughter Chelsea Clinton, Malcolm Gladwell, Annie Liebovitz, Bill Hader, tennis star Milos Raonic, Debbie Harry, Bridget Moynahan, and iHeartRadio podcaster Rob Shuter.
“It’s all a little much but this is Chelsea and with The Eagle leather bar closed due to the pandemic, no one is going to complain about seeing guys in uniform with a big gun,” one resident of that building told Page Six.
Meanwhile, Page Six reported that the New York Post’s Jennifer Gould noted Wednesday New York City’s “ultra rich are quietly preparing for civil unrest on Election Day — by hiring armed guards to stand watch over their luxury Manhattan buildings.”
The hiring of armed guards by wealthy, left-leaning elites was blasted as hypocritical by social media users.
“Hahahaha of course the Purge is limited to the poors,” The Daily Wire’s senior writer Emily Zanotti wrote, in reference to the apocalyptic movie series.

“Class warfare: Gun control celebrities hire guns they’re against you having,” gun rights activist and syndicated conservative talker Dana Loesch added.

Others also chimed in over the perceived hypocrisy.
Every armed guard should agree to stand down for official BLM or Antifa ‘protesters’.

This isn’t a novel story or a novel day. Celebrities and the rich and famous pay for armed private security year round. It’s one reason they can scream defund the police. It has zero consequences on their personal safety. It’s so damn cynical.

They are more important than regular folk. They do so much.

Armed guards protecting the same people who want to defund the police and take away our guns. The irony is astounding.

Why would they need that? And wouldn’t counselors be better?

Workers in large cities around the country are installing boards over windows and helping business owners make other preparations ahead of Election Day, when tens of millions of Americans who have yet to cast an early ballot will trek to the polls.
In addition, metro police departments are also preparing to deal with mobs of demonstrators expected to take to the streets regardless of who wins.
They include New York City, Miami, Portland, Seattle, Minneapolis, Orlando, Chicago, St. Louis, and others.
The preparations, several police professionals have said, are unprecedented.
“Stuff like this was done during 9/11 when everybody went to 12-hour tours, but they basically put the whole job on alert right now,” Vincent Vallelong, vice president of the New York-based Sergeants Benevolent Association, told The Daily Caller.
“I’d be lying to you if I said I wouldn’t be worried,” he added. “We’ve already seen cops get assaulted in New York the last time this broke out. This is something not to take lightly right now.”
And Dennis Slocumb, vice president emeritus of the International Union of Police Associations, added, “Every city is preparing for it, it’s not just New York and Minneapolis. I would think that any police chief in any metropolitan area has probably been preparing for this for a while.”
