Michigan restaurants and bars will be forced to become COVID Gestapo by recording the names and addresses of their customers pursuant to an order by the state’s Democrat officials that’s supposedly aimed at curbing the coronavirus. Restaurant executives slammed the new directive, saying it will crush their already-struggling businesses and will endanger workers, who could get beat up or killed by angry patrons.
“Our frontline servers have already had trouble dealing with mask mandates,” said Scott Ellis, executive director of the Michigan Licensed Beverage Association. “We did de-escalation training to help with that and now we’re taking it to the next level. We have to gather someone’s personal information? When you’re going to sit down at a restaurant, you don’t expect someone to take your name and number because you’re coming to have a drink or a burger.”
The new rule was imposed by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services amid a recent spike in infections.
Restaurants in the Democrat-controlled state are already operating at 50% capacity under Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s orders. Whitmer has already extended lockdowns more than five times.
Justin Winslow is the CEO of the Michigan Restaurant and Lodging Association. He slammed Michigan’s new contact-tracing mandate, saying it does not match “existing science and data” which shows “minimal transmission” from dining at restaurants.
In a statement to Michigan’s Fox 17, Winslow said:
“A restaurant industry-specific contact tracing mandate lacks merit given existing science and data.
The COVID-19 outbreak investigation data collected by the MDHHS continues to show minimal transmission from restaurant dining, despite the rising caseloads, representing only about 2% of all cases the state is investigating.
In relation to the size and scope of the industry — which serves millions of people every day and employs several hundred thousand more — this well-intended effort is more likely to result in job loss, foreclosure and fewer restaurants than it will prevent transmission.”
Restaurants and bars will be fined $1,000 if they defy the new contact-tracing order.
This new Michigan order requiring eateries to take down customers’ names and addresses echoes a similar contact-tracing order that targeted Christians in Democrat-controlled Kentucky.
In April, the Kentucky state police were required to record the license plates of anyone who attended church on Easter Sunday (the holiest day in Christianity) and report them to local health officials so they could be forcibly quarantined.
Kentucky’s Democrat Governor Andy Beshear claimed that such a threat was not necessary against Muslims or Jews “because we don’t have any synagogues or mosques that are holding in-person services.”
Reminder: A black security guard at a Family Dollar store in the Democrat-run city of Flint, Michigan was shot to death in May because he asked a shopper to wear a face mask.
Absolutely horrible! I blame the Governor as well

Democrats have made blaming President Trump for the coronavirus the centerpiece of their flailing election strategy. So perhaps it comes as no surprise that the mainstream media have cranked up the COVID hysteria in recent weeks.
Interestingly, the COVID-related state of emergency declared by New York’s Democrat governor Andrew Cuomo mysteriously ends on Election Day, Nov. 3.
COVID lockdowns also end on Nov. 4 in Kentucky and Oregon (both states are run by Democrats). Coincidence?
