U.S. Senator Kamala Harris apparently finds it laughable that there are concerns about her bringing a “socialist or progressive perspective” to the White House if elected.

The Democratic vice presidential nominee responded with a laugh and non-answer when asked about her liberal views during an interview with CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell. Harris burst into laughter in the “60 Minutes” segment when confronted over her far-left record, providing no real answer but opting instead to blame Vice President Mike Pence for making up the claim.

“You’re considered the most liberal United States senator,” O’Donnell told Harris in the interview that aired Sunday.

“I, somebody, said that, and actually it was Mike Pence on the debate stage,” the California Democrat replied with a shrug, inexplicably breaking into laughter.

Surprisingly, O’Donnell did not let her off the hook and gave the senator a quick reality check.

“Well, actually, the non-partisan GovTrack has rated you as the most liberal senator,” the CBS anchor pointed out, referring to an August article on Harris’ 2019 ranking as a senator.

“You supported the Green New Deal. You supported Medicare for All. You supported legalizing marijuana,”  O’Donnell continued as Harris absorbed her words, the grin on her face fading. “Joe Biden doesn’t support those things, so are you gonna bring the policies, those progressive policies that you supported as senator into a Biden administration?”

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden raised eyebrows last week in his debate with President Trump when he openly advocated the far left’s positions, vowing to pass amnesty for illegal immigrants and to eliminate the oil industry. Harris responded to O’Donnell by essentially avoiding the question.

“What I will do and I promise you this, and this is what Joe wants me to do — this was part of our deal — I will always share with him my lived experience as it relates to any issue that we confront,” she said. “And I promised Joe that I will give him that perspective and always be honest with him.”

“And is that a socialist or progressive perspective?” O’Donnell pressed, causing Harris to break out laughing again.

“No. No,” she said, still laughing.

“It is the perspective of– of a woman who grew up– a Black child in America, who was also a prosecutor, who also has a mother who arrived here at the age of 19 from India. Who also, you know, likes hip hop,” she continued. “Like, what do you wanna know?”

But O’Donnell was not laughing. In fact, the “CBS Evening News” anchor did not even crack a smile as Harris giggled through the serious inquiry about what she plans to bring to a Biden presidency, which she already referred to as a “Harris administration” at a campaign stop in Arizona.

“I want to give you the opportunity to address this because, at the Republican National Convention, President Trump made the case that Joe Biden is going to be nothing more than a Trojan horse for socialist policies, for the left-wing of the Democratic Party,” O’Donnell told Harris.

“Are you going to push those policies when you’re vice president?” she asked again.

“I am not gonna be confined to Donald Trump’s definition of who I or anybody else is,” Harris responded, again avoiding a direct answer. “And I think America has learned that that would be a mistake.”

The Democrat provided another non-answer when O’Donnell provided a scenario using the issue of Medicare for All, something Biden has not supported. But, once  more, Harris deflected.

“I would not have joined the ticket if I didn’t support what Joe was proposing,” she said.

The former vice president may be rubbing off on his running mate as Harris suffered a few gaffes while campaigning in Cleveland, Ohio, over the weekend. She was caught on a hot mic asking staff where she was before addressing the crowd and declared that “over 220 million” Americans have died from COVID-19, when the actual reported number is around 224,000.

Harris also used a bullhorn to speak to voters lined up at a polling location, raising questions about whether it was a form of electioneering.

Meanwhile, as liberals praised Harris and slammed O’Donnell for her “60 Minutes” interview, other Twitter users called the Democrat out.
