Fox News host Laura Ingraham ticked off a list of hypocrisies during her Wednesday evening program to demonstrate how the Democrat Party has changed in an appeal to principled liberals to “find a new political home” in President Donald Trump’s GOP.
After noting that for years Democrats have claimed to be champions of the “working poor” and civil rights, Ingraham noted that millions switched parties to back President Donald Trump and Republicans in 2016.
That happened because those middle class and working poor voters came to understand after eight years of President Barack Obama they were worse off, not better.
But the hypocrisy doesn’t stop there, Ingraham continued, going on to note that Democrats no longer support fundamental liberties like freedom of speech or foreign policies that favor peace rather than perpetual war.
“Remember, the left — liberals — they used to support free speech. But now, they’re for ‘cancel culture’ and social media censorship,” Ingraham said before playing a clip of a guest who appeared with Jake Tapper on CNN and called for censoring President Trump.
“The liberals used to support the separation of powers, but now they’re for letting a single person shut down an entire state,” the host continued, followed by a clip of Michigan’s controversial Democratic governor, Gretchen Whitmer, who is bucking a state Supreme Court ruling declaring her perpetual lockdowns of businesses and houses of worship unconstitutional.
Democrats “used to support openness and transparency for politicians, and now they’re for the candidate who refuses to answer questions on any serious topic,” Ingraham declared.
She then played a clip of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden refusing to answer a reporter’s question about packing the U.S. Supreme Court with liberal activists, saying Americans “don’t deserve” to know before the election.
“They used to support human rights, then they decided they were going to side with a guy who’s a long time China fan,” the host continued, playing clips of Biden singing China’s praises in 2011 and then denying to CNN’s Tapper that he was “naive about China.”
“Nah, not at all. Those [slave labor] camps, forget about those,” Ingraham said mockingly.
Continuing, Ingraham said Democrats used to be against endless overseas wars but are now “linking arms with neoconservatives” like those who formed The Lincoln Project “who still support the Iraq war.”
The host played a series of clips featuring Lincoln Project founders like Rick Wilson and Steve Schmidt disparaging the GOP under President Trump and declaring that the group has fully endorsed Biden.
The organization was caught Wednesday spreading false claims online that the patriot group Proud Boys had launched a voter intimidation effort. The claim was a false flag planted by Iranian operatives to help Biden, the FBI and U.S. intelligence community concluded.
“Liberals used to be suspicious of big business, but now they’re fighting a president who just sued Google. And liberals decry politicians who sold access, but now they excuse it,” she added ahead of clips featuring CNN hosts and Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) downplaying damning new and credible allegations involving Joe and Hunter Biden in various corruption schemes.
“Now, going through all that, it’s embarrassing for liberals to even be part of that,” Ingraham said. “And I can’t imagine that all Democrats — the ones that really do have principles — I don’t believe that they sign onto all of it.
“Well tonight, I’m speaking directly to you,” she continued. “It’s time to find a new political home. You wanna be with Rick Wilson and that crowd, of the Lincoln Project? Get involved in more wars? How could that be what you want?”
Ingraham then noted that during President Trump’s first term of “peace and prosperity,” middle-class wages and overall earnings have actually climbed thousands of dollars per year on average, which he promised he would do.
“The truth is that a Biden administration, it’s going to be four dreary years of lockdowns and shutdowns, rolling blackouts and increased inequality,” said Ingraham, adding jobs would be shifted offshore again.
“Traditional, hard-working Americans, a lot of them used to be Democrats…will be punished economically and shamed culturally. And when Silicon Valley has deplatformed independent media voices, our favorite hard-core socialists will have free reign to make Americans pay,” Ingraham concluded before playing clips of “The Squad” members including Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Ayanna Pressley.
