President Donald Trump lashed out at House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff over the California Democrat’s unfounded claims that incriminating corruption evidence found on a laptop belonging to Hunter Biden is part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

In an interview Tuesday morning with Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” program, the president said Schiff “ought to be put away,” suggesting he should be treated for mental issues.

“It’s just crazy. I saw Shifty Schiff get up yesterday and say this is Russia,” the president said.

“He’s a sick man. He is so sick. We went through two and a half years of that, plus. This guy, he ought to be put away, or he ought to be, you know, something should happen with him,” he added.

“I watched him look straight at the camera and say,” Trump continued.

The president went on to note that Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe flatly denied earlier this week that the U.S. intelligence community has no evidence that Russia is behind the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop.

What’s more, Ratcliffe said in an interview with Fox Business Network host Maria Bartiromo, the intelligence community has not told Schiff or anyone in Congress that Russia is running a disinformation campaign.

“It’s funny that some of the people who complain the most about intelligence being politicized are the ones politicizing the intelligence,” Ratcliffe said. “Unfortunately, it is Adam Schiff who said the intelligence community believes the Hunter Biden laptop and emails on it are part of a Russian disinformation campaign.

“Let me be clear: the intelligence community doesn’t believe that because there is no intelligence that supports that. And we have shared no intelligence with Adam Schiff or any member of Congress that Hunter Biden’s laptop is part of some Russian disinformation campaign,” he added. “It’s simply not true.”

As for Schiff, Trump said the California Dem “ought to be investigated for what he does.”

“He stood up, he looked at the camera, and he said the laptop conceived and dedicated by Russia,” the president told Fox & Friends. “This is crazy.”

For years after the president took office, Schiff claimed to have evidence that Trump’s 2016 campaign ‘colluded’ with Russia against his Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.

In May, as he released transcripts from 53 witnesses who provided the House Intelligence Committee with testimony related to its ‘Russian collusion’ investigation, Schiff said in a tweet, “Trump’s campaign invited Russian help, made full use of it, then covered it up. Then, Trump sought more illicit help from Ukraine, leading to his impeachment and a bipartisan vote to convict. Read just released transcripts from our Russia investigation.”

In fact, none of the witnesses who testified ever said they had evidence that the president colluded with Russia or Ukraine. Some, including former Obama-era Defense official Evelyn Farkas, continued to make claims in public that there was evidence even after testifying that there wasn’t.

Also, other investigations by the House, the Senate, and special counsel Robert Mueller, also failed to turn up any evidence.

Rather, recently declassified materials indicate that Russia was trying to harm Trump’s campaign and that the collusion narrative was created by Hillary Clinton to take attention away from her alleged criminal mishandling of classified emails.
