CNN chief legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin got fired from his day job at the New Yorker for allegedly masturbating on a Zoom video chat with coworkers.

The story quickly escalated from reports that Toobin accidentally exposed his penis during the call last week between members of the New Yorker and WNYC radio to much more scandalous and the incident has been all the rage, with the liberal ladies on The View having their say.

Given Toobin’s rich history of Trump bashing, it was painful for co-host Joy Behar to denounce him, but she told the legal analyst to get a therapist. But before she offered that advice, Behar left viewers with a visual image that was as ghastly as the idea of seeing Toobin ‘in the act.’

“I can relate to it, because it easily could happen to me,” she explained. “Not that I sit around naked. I don’t. But I don’t know how to use the technology.

She also said Toobin “provided a public service” because he gave them something to talk about besides President Donald Trump and the pandemic.

“I feel sorry for the guy,” Behar added, saying she liked his reporting.

The co-host then set her sights on the other people on the call, as if they were at fault for being exposed to Toobin’s vulgarity.

“See, this is the part I don’t really get, why would you watch that?” she said. “There’s so many things on Netflix and Hulu right now to watch. Who wants to watch that? And yet they stayed on the call and they kept —“

“Yeah, I don’t understand why no one said, ‘Jeffrey, listen, we can see you,'” chimed in co-host Whoopi Goldberg. “I don’t understand why no one had the presence of mind to say, ‘Dude, do you know everyone can see you?’”

There was more banter about it shocking, though the idea of somehow faulting those on the call prevailed.

“One more thing, Behar added. “The self-destructive behavior of some of these guys who are getting caught doing this type of craziness when they have these huge careers — Anthony Weiner comes to mind.”

She then laments that Toobin may not be able to resume his Trump-bashing.

“He’s got this huge career on CNN,” she said. “He’s the guy and then he shoots himself in the foot with behavior like this. I mean get a therapist, Jeffrey. Immediately, if not sooner.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin asked if Toobin could ever recover and Behar responded with a feeble joke that fell flat.

“He might recover from sexual addiction, but he’ll be blind from the process,” she said. “That’s a funny joke. Never mind.”

The remarkable thing about the story is that there were people defending a 60-year-old man masturbating during a work Zoom call, which makes one wonder just how many people are playing with themselves on such calls.

You could call it the #MeToobin movement, as noted blogger David Burge coined the bizarre phenomenon.

Here’s a sampling of some of the responses to the #MeToonin hashtag, to include a thought from Donald Trump Jr., who believes he has been doing it all wrong.
