“Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace appeared to dismiss allegations made against Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden last week that he and his son, Hunter, have been profiting off the former vice president’s political influence.

In an interview with Trump campaign adviser, Jason Miller, Wallace played a clip of the president making claims during a campaign stop this week that the Bidens were “an organized crime family, as far as I’m concerned.”

President Trump was referencing reports last week in the New York Post that emails and materials obtained from a laptop computer Hunter Biden dropped off at a repair shop in Delaware last year and then summarily abandoned indicate widespread corruption involving him and his father in connection with Burisma, an energy firm in Ukraine where Hunter served for years in a lucrative position as a board member.

In a follow-up report, the Post also provided additional evidence alleging that Hunter Biden and other members of the Biden family were enriched by deals made with companies in Communist China.

But Wallace appeared to distrust the claims made by the Post, some of which have been elaborated on further at Breitbart News on Friday.

“Two Senate-led Republican committees investigated what went on in Ukraine, and while they said that with Hunter at Burisma end Biden handling the Ukraine account for the administration, while there was a perception of a conflict of interest, they found no actual wrongdoing,” Wallace told Miller.

“And as for these other business deals — and you talk about ‘the big guy’ and money — the fact is Vice President Biden has actually released his tax returns, unlike President Trump, and there’s no indication he ever got any money from anybody in these business deals,” the anchor continued.

“So I guess the question is: Do you have any hard evidence that Joe Biden lied to the IRS? Because that would be a heck of a story,” he asked.

Miller began by noting that Joe Biden was not truthful regarding earlier claims that he knew little about his son’s business dealings with Burisma, especially.

“We do know that Joe Biden lied to the American public when he said he never discussed his son Hunter’s business dealings, but we have pictures of him with a Burisma executive,” Miller said, in reference to a 2014 photo obtained by Fox News’ Tucker Carlson showing the then-vice president posing with Hunter and Devon Archer, who served on Burisma’s board with Hunter.

Joe Biden had said previously he had “never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings.”

The photo was unearthed as the House was preparing to begin impeachment proceedings against President Trump claiming, falsely, that he had demanded a quid pro quo from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

In his interview with Wallace, Miller also said “we have independent confirmation” that Joe Biden also met with a Burisma executive, as alluded to in the trove of hard drive data obtained by the Post.

“Joe Biden has not come out and himself denied any of these allegations,” Miller continued. “You think back to 2016 and the way voters really rejected the whole Clinton Inc., the way the Clinton family made all this money trading off their name and access, we’re seeing the exact same thing here.

“Both of [Joe Biden’s] brothers are lobbyists, his son is obviously doing a lot of foreign work and maybe hasn’t registered” with the federal government as a lobbyist “for all these things,” Miller continued.

“Voters hate it when people make a bunch of money trading off of their family name, and I think we’re going to hear a lot more about this on Thursday at the debate.”

Presidential lawyer Rudy Giuliani, who gave a copy of the Hunter Biden hard drive to the Post earlier this month, has also suggested that evidence show Hunter Biden met with former Deputy Secretary of State Tony Blinken at the State Department, in violation the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).

In an interview with The Daily Caller, Giuliani said evidence suggests potentially a half-dozen such violations of the FARA law.
