Actress Kerry Washington echoed Joe Biden’s “You Ain’t Black” rhetoric by suggesting that black Americans are all naturally left-wing and only side with conservatives when they’re homophobic.
“I know from being on the campaign trail in ’08 and ’12, and now, how many black folks are seduced into voting conservative because of their feelings about gay marriage,” Washington told the Hollywood Reporter. “They’ll vote against their own best interests on all other areas because of these [anti-gay] ideas.”
Washington made the insulting remarks about black Americans being homophobic while discussing her latest acting role, where she plays a conservative PTA president who’d rather cancel the prom than allow a gay student to attend.
Kerry basically suggested that Black America is monolithic in their hatred of homosexuals. So Washington said black Americans lean conservative only when they’re homophobic and want a platform to hate gays:
“I know from being on the campaign trail in ’08, and ’12, and now, how many Black folks are seduced into voting conservative, because of their feelings about gay marriage. They’ll vote against their own best interests on all these other areas, because of these ideas.
[Homophobia is] a huge issue in communities of color. We didn’t want [my character] to be a villain. We wanted her to be nice and to dress well and to be inviting in lots of ways, but to have this belief that was wrong about her own child.”
With her incoherent remarks, Kerry Washington insulted not only black Americans, but all other minorities because she claimed that all “communities of color” are homophobic.
For the record, there are numerous gay black Americans who are proud conservatives. Case in point: Rob Smith is a gay black conservative and an Iraq War veteran who supports President Trump.
Traveling with @RichardGrenell and the @getoutspoken20 crew to #GetOUTspoken Pride in Nashville and Ric got a call from @VP Pence!
We told him how much he CRUSHED it on Wednesday night. He also sent regards to Ric’s partner, Matt.

Smith slammed the left-wing narrative that conservatives are homophobic.
Just ask MSNBC’s left-wing host Joy Reid, who has a history of anti-gay writings.

Many gay activists say President Trump has destroyed the myth that conservatives hate homosexuals.
Just ask Richard Grenell, the openly gay former acting director of national intelligence. Grenell was appointed by President Trump as the U.S. ambassador to Germany in 2018.
In 2020, Trump appointed Grenell as the acting director of national intelligence. In so doing, Grenell become the first openly gay White House Cabinet member in U.S. history.
Predictably, the left-wing media ignored this milestone for the LGBT community and the support that President Trump enjoys from this voting bloc.
Grenell said: “President Trump is the best president the gay and lesbian community has ever had. And his support in the gay community is the highest any Republican has ever seen.”

Rob Smith observed: “Gay conservatives tend to be handsome, open-minded, free-thinking, successful people who take care of their bodies and minds. Gay leftists tend to be…not any of those things.”

I wonder why that is? 🧐

Here are some other gay conservatives who support President Trump:
- Billionaire Peter Thiel, co-founder of PayPal.
- Brandon Straka, a former Democrat and founder of the “Walk Away” from the Democrat Party movement.
- Scott Presler, conservative activist and vocal Trump supporter.
- Tammy Bruce, conservative radio host and author.
For Kerry Washington to suggest that black Americans only lean conservative because they hate gays is a racist insult. Black Democrat Bernadine Kennedy Kent, who endorsed President Trump, probably disagrees.
Kent said: “Not only am I Black, I am a proud American and delighted to endorse President Trump for re-election. Under President Trump’s leadership, Black Americans have experienced record-low unemployment and the poverty rate among the black community has fallen to its lowest level in U.S. history.”
