President Trump may be attending weekend rallies following a green light from his doctor on getting back to public activities after his positive coronavirus diagnosis.
The president told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Thursday that his reelection campaign is working out arrangements to potentially hold the rallies in Florida and Pennsylvania following White House physician Dr. Sean Conley’s report that he may have a “safe return to public engagements” as early as Saturday.
“I think I’m going to try doing a rally on Saturday night if we have enough time to put it together,” Trump said on “Hannity.”
“We want to do a rally probably in Florida on Saturday night. I might come back and do one in Pennsylvania the following night,” he added, telling Hannity that “it’s incredible what’s going on. I feel so good.”

After testing positive for COVID-19 last week, and spending the weekend in Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, the president’s personal physician said in a report on Thursday that Trump had “completed his course of therapy for COVID-19 as prescribed by his team of physicians,” and there was no sign of “adverse therapeutic effects.”
“Overall, he’s responded well to treatment,” Conley’s letter stated.
“Saturday will be day 10 since Thursday’s diagnosis,” the Navy physician added, “and based on the trajectory of advanced diagnostics the team has been conducting, I fully anticipate the President’s safe return to public engagements at that time.”

The president told Hannity he would likely be tested again on Friday, noting that his doctors “found very little infection or virus, if any” in previous tests.
“I don’t know if they found any,” he said. “I didn’t go into it greatly with the doctors. We have these great doctors at Walter Reed, and you do rely on them, they are really fantastic talents and they came in from Johns Hopkins also and other places.”
“I saw so many doctors looking over me, I think I’m the most analyzed human being in the world right now,” he joked.
Touting the different medications he was given and his swift recovery from the coronavirus, Trump said Wednesday that he would like to get the same treatments to infected Americans for “free.”
“If you’re in the hospital and you’re feeling really bad, I think we’re going to work it so that you get them and you’re going to get them free, and especially if you’re a senior, we’re going to get you in there quick. We have hundreds of thousands of doses that are just about ready,” Trump said in a video message from the White House.
The president mentioned the possibility of a rally in an earlier call with Fox Business anchor Maria Bartiromo, his first interview since being treated for coronavirus. He spoke about how he and first lady Melania Trump were doing well and how he believed he was not contagious.
“She’s feeling good, I’m feeling good. Really good,” he said. “I had a case. I got it knocked out.”
“No, I don’t think I’m contagious at all,” he added, noting that, even though he has plenty of distance between him and supporters at campaign events, “I still wouldn’t go to a rally if I was contagious.”
Though it was not yet clear if the president will be going ahead with the weekend rallies, he was reportedly going to be hosting the “Rush Limbaugh Show” on Friday as a sort of virtual rally event.
