Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden has a bad habit of blurting out things he probably should keep to himself, though some would argue this is further evidence of his cognitive decline.

On Thursday, Biden said what millions of voters fear, which is that running mate Sen. Kamala Harris is “ready on day one to be president” — a public acknowledgment that lends credence to the suggestion that the 77-year-old former vice president is a shell being used by the progressive left to gain control of the White House.

Biden and his vice-presidential candidate were together in Phoenix, Ariz., and he responded to President Trump describing Harris as “monster” after Wednesday’s vice presidential debate, saying “everything she said is a lie.”

“This is one of the finest persons I’ve ever dealt with,” Biden said of his running mate. “This is a person who is ready on day one to be president of the United States of America.”

Harris got her launch in politics after she had an extramarital affair with former San Francisco Mayor and State Assembly Speaker Willie Brown. She was 30 years old at the time she became intimate with the powerful 60-year-old politician, who’d go on to appoint her to her first significant political role.

Brown appointed her to the California Medical Assistance Commission in 1994, and supported her early rise to office as a district attorney.

Interestingly, Harris made a telling Freudian slip during a virtual round table with Hispanic small-business owners last month, saying a “Harris administration” would have their backs.

“A Harris administration, together with Joe Biden as the president of the United States…” she said, before correcting herself.

The blunder must have been contagious, as the next day Biden raised eyebrows when he referred to a potential “Harris-Biden” administration while speaking at an event in Tampa, Fla.

Of course, given that Harris is much further left than Biden, incidents like this support President Trump’s claim that Joe Biden is “a Trojan horse for socialism.”

Biden had another unscripted moment Thursday, when he told reporters that voters will find out his position on “court-packing” after they cast their votes in November — talk about disrespecting the people.

“You’ll know my opinion on court-packing when the election is over,” the Democrat nominee said when asked about it.

The issue came up during the vice presidential debate, as Vice President Mike Pence hammered Harris refusing to answer whether a Biden-Harris administration would expand the Supreme Court beyond the current nine justices.

Given that Trump is expected to be successful in placing his third conservative jurist on the Supreme Court, Democrats are likely to desecrate the high court’s tradition in an attempt to reestablish a liberal majority, if they gain control of the White House and Senate.

Biden’s comment borrows from Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s playbook in 2010 when she rammed Obamacare down America’s throat, saying: “We have to pass the bill so that you can find out what is in it.”

His argument for not answering whether he would pack the court was that if he does, the media will actually report it — as biased as they are, they would have to.
