One of the greatest frustrations Americans have is that when it comes to the swamp known as Washington, D.C., there is seldom any accountability for the shenanigans that goes on — even when the law is broken.

Fresh off his short stint in the hospital to be treated for COVID-19, President Trump reminded the nation Tuesday night that he declassified all documents pertaining to both the Russian collusion hoax and Hillary Clinton’s email scandal.

The president was responding to a tweet from journalist Paul Sperry, who said that when all the documents “are finally declassified, and all the redactions removed from reports, the nation will see that the FBI and CIA not only knew the Russia ‘collusion’ allegations against Trump were a political dirty trick, but that they were in on the trick.”

Not only did Trump inform Sperry that he had already done so, he called the Russian probe “the single greatest political CRIME in American History.”

Trump has long expressed frustration with how slow the process has been in reviewing the FBI efforts against his campaign in the run up to the 2016 election, and against his administration once elected.

He followed up on his earlier tweet Tuesday with a call for the Justice Department to act, reiterating that this was “perhaps the biggest political crime in the history of our Country.”

On May 23, 2019, the president issued a memo giving Attorney General Bill Barr the authority to declassify any documents related to surveillance of the Trump campaign in 2016.

“Today’s action will help ensure that all Americans learn the truth about the events that occurred, and the actions that were taken, during the last Presidential election and will restore confidence in our public institutions,” a statement from then White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said.

Fourteen months later, we are not much closer to learning the truth and the onus is on FBI Director Christopher Wray and CIA Director Gina Haspel, who are accused of blocking the release of documents, according to Fox News.

On Tuesday, Director of National Intelligence John Ratcliffe declassified documents that showed former CIA Director John Brennan briefed former President Obama on Clinton’s purported “plan” to tie Trump to Russia as “a means of distracting the public from her use of a private email server” ahead of the 2016 election, Fox News reported.

Brennan’s handwritten notes were taken after he briefed Obama on the intelligence received by the CIA — Ratcliffe declassified the notes and a CIA memo showing that officials referred the matter to the FBI for potential investigative action.

When fired FBI director James Comey testified last week before the Senate Judiciary Committee, he was asked about this referral and replied nonchalantly that it did not “ring any bells with me.”

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett appeared on “Hannity” Tuesday night and said the documents could prove that Clinton committed a felony.

“Now we know that Hillary Clinton not only invented the Russia hoax, she financed the Russia hoax, she disseminated the Russia hoax,” Jarrett said.

Even worse, he insisted that Obama knew.

“Barack Obama knew it, he sat on the information, he covered it up to protect Clinton and destroy Donald Trump,” Jarrett charged. “He sat there silently as our government was thrown into turmoil for the last four years over what he knew based on the intelligence presented to him by John Brennan was phony information conjured up by Hillary Clinton to distract from her own emails.”

“But it demonstrates just how immoral, unscrupulous, devious, and corrupt Hillary Clinton was, and for those like John Brennan, who has now gone on the air and said well, she didn’t do anything wrong, she didn’t do anything illegal — he doesn’t know, he’s not a lawyer. I would argue she has committed crimes depending upon how she disseminated the information. It’s a crime, a felony, to feed false information to law enforcement.”
