Tara Reade, the former staffer to then-Sen. Joe Biden who has claimed he sexually penetrated her with a finger in the early 1990s, added new details in a “60 Minutes” interview that aired in Australia instead of the United States.
“Opponent of the opponent. A former staffer of @JoeBiden reveals why the Democrat candidate should never be President. SUNDAY on @Channel9, Tara Reade speaks exclusively to #60Mins about claims Biden sexually assaulted her,” noted “60 Minutes Australia” in a tweet accompanied by a clip previewing the interview.
The clip begins with Reade announcing in a video she is taking that she’s in Biden’s office, including a picture of Biden on an office wall, then another of her talking on the telephone as she begins to describe new aspects of the alleged assault when she was an aide to the senator in 1993.
“He pushed me up against a wall and then he used his knee to separate my legs,” Reade charged, becoming emotional.
Biden has flatly denied Reade’s allegations. Also, several Democratic women who are supporting the former vice president, some of whom demanded that Americans believe unfounded, uncorroborated sexual assault allegations against Justice Brett Kavanaugh because the accusers were women, have discounted Reade, leaving her confounded and disillusioned.
Earlier, Reade told the program that Biden was “a political hero” to her because she said she “bought into the image.”
“I really believed he was someone to not only admire but also wanted to be like him,” she said, adding that she had dreams of being in politics herself someday.
But as time passed, Reade noted that Biden would “put his hands” on her, sometimes running his fingers through her hair. “I had never experienced that with a boss before,” she added.
She said she never told Biden not to put his hands on her because she “was too scared” to say anything. Reade also said Biden touched other women as well because “he seemed to lack boundaries.”
Reade went on to say that one time she and Biden happened to be alone in a Senate corridor.
“He said my name, and the next thing I knew, he pushed me up against the wall, he kind of pushed…he moved his body toward me…and then, um, he used his knee to separate my legs,” she charged.
At this point, Reade became emotional, saying, “He said, ‘I wanna f**k you,’ and he was whispering in my ear and he was kissing me and I was trying to get away from him.
“When I pulled away…he had taken his hands and put them down my skirt,” she continued, tearing up, “and taken one hand and penetrated me with his fingers. When I pulled away, he pulled back, and he seemed…he looked at me like, kind of almost annoyed, and he said, ‘Come on, man, I heard you liked me.’”
Reade said she sensed that Biden became angry at the rejection.
“He put his finger kinda towards my face and he said, ‘You know, you’re nothing to me. You’re nothing,” Reade continued.
Reade said she confided in her mother what had happened but did not go to the police because “they’re there to protect the senators and congressmen, they’re not there to protect us.”
Unlike the allegations against Kavanaugh, several people have corroborated Reade’s account, including her ex-husband, a former neighbor, and nearly a half-dozen others.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) blasted CBS for its decision to air the potentially damaging segment in Australia just weeks before the election instead of the United States.
This is the most complete indictment of media bias ever.
Why does CBS think voters in…Australia need to know about these serious charges against Biden, but not voters in…America (where he’s actually on the ballot)?
ONLY explanation is that @CBSNews is covering up for Dems. https://t.co/oLa8g6fr8P

Please, @CBSNews respond.
Either tell us (1) why YOU decided this is news in Australia, but not the USA, or (2) why you have abandoned any pretense at impartiality or journalistic integrity?
We’ll wait. https://t.co/DmKbd7fLA2

In her interview, Reade said she is speaking out because Biden is running for the highest office in the land.
“He doesn’t deserve the presidency,” she said.
