If you thought Fox News host Chris Wallace’s one-sided performance at the first presidential debate last Tuesday was shocking, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
During a 12-minute long discussion with Trump campaign senior advisor Steve Cortes on Fox News’ “Fox News Sunday,” the purported newsman repeatedly raised his voice, acted sarcastically and behaved in a manner more befitting of someone at CNN.
Meanwhile, throughout the entire discussion, Wallace kept endlessly poking Cortes by interrupting him, challenging his every syllable and just being difficult.
Watch part one of the discussion below:
During one particularly tense moment that starts around the 6:05 mark in the video above, the Fox host accused President Donald Trump’s family of ignoring guidelines from the Cleveland Clinic pertaining to mask attendance and social distancing at the first debate last Tuesday.
“The rules from the Cleveland Clinic could not have been more clear. Everyone in the audience has to wear a mask. … After the first family came in, they all took off their masks. So did the White House chief of staff, Mark Meadows. Do they think that the health and safety rules for everybody else do not apply for them?” he asked.
Cortes tried responding by pointing out that “everybody was tested before that event” but was cut off by a thoroughly disgusted Wallace.
“Steve, it doesn’t matter! Steve, everybody that was in that room was tested, and the Cleveland Clinic’s regulations was that it doesn’t matter! Everybody except for the three of us on the stage had to wear a mask, and people from the Cleveland Clinic came over and offered the first family masks, and they were waved away!” Wallace exclaimed.
“And the Commission on Presidential Debates has issued a statement saying that from now on, if you don’t wear a mask, you’re going to be escorted from the hall. So forget this question of being tested beforehand. Everybody was tested beforehand.”
Cortes then meekly said “Chris” in an attempt to get a word out, but Wallace cut him off again.
“No! I’m going to finish my question!” he exclaimed. “Everybody was told to wear a mask. Why did the first family and the chief of staff feel that the rules for everybody else didn’t apply for them?”
Cortes then tried replying again, saying, “We believe in masks. We also believe in some element of individual choice. People were distanced, and they had been tested. Both of those things were true in that …”
And again Wallace cut him off: “No, Steve, they weren’t distanced, and there were rules, and there was no freedom of choice. They broke the rules. Why did they break the rules?”
“Chris, I was there like you were, and they were distanced,” Cortes responded.
“It doesn’t matter, Steve!” Wallace exclaimed.

By then, Cortes had absolutely had it.
“Chris, the way you’re starting to harangue me now reminds me of what you did to the president during that debate on Tuesday night,” he bluntly said.
But this only infuriated Wallace further.
“Oh yeah, I harangued him!” he sarcastically replied.
Ignoring the snide host’s sarcasm, Cortes continued describing what had happened.
“[Trump] had debated Biden, but you as well. You were not a neutral moderator then. I don’t mind tough questions, but what I don’t think it’s OK is for you to become the effective opposition to the president,” he said.
It’s not clear if Wallace has ever raised his voice and acted sarcastic while speaking with any member of Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden’s staff. The assumption is that he hasn’t, what with his habit of seemingly doing Biden’s bidding.
In response to Cortes’ statement, Wallace decided to go ahead and just live up to the stereotype by becoming the effective opposition to the president.
“Steve, let me just say the president interrupted me and the vice president 145 times, so I object to saying I harangued the president. I know it’s the talking point,” he said.
That may be so, but the first interruptions were made by Biden. Moreover, Wallace interrupted Trump far more times than he interrupted Biden. Of course, he presumably already knows this but has purposefully chosen to lie.
Chris Wallace lied on TV today saying that Trump was the first person to interrupt during the debate.
In fact, Joe Biden interrupted Trump 3 times on the first question.

Chris Wallace interrupted Donald Trump 76 times last night.
He only interrupted Joe Biden 15 times.
Trump shouldn’t have to debate two opponents at once, but he did—and he STILL won.

The facts are facts, not talking points …
At this point, Wallace finally let the question rest and moved on to other topics. Speaking of which, during the discussion, a few vital nuggets of information were revealed, including the fact that the president is “doing well.”
“I can tell you, Chris, that he’s doing well. … We spoke to the president yesterday, we meaning campaign staff. He was as upbeat and assertive as he’s ever been, and then we also know what the rest of the world saw, which was that terrific video of Donald Trump, the fighter, speaking directly to the American people,” Cortes said.
That video may be seen below:

He added that the president is on track to be back throwing fastballs like a champ.
“It’s the baseball playoffs right now. If I could use a sports analogy, he’s on the DL right now but very, very shortly he’s going to be back in again throwing 95-mile-an-hour fastballs. You can count on that!” he said.
