On Friday, two days after Fox News host Chris Wallace’s widely panned moderation of the first presidential debate, the embattled newsman-turned-liberal advocate reportedly made approximately eight appearances on the network, leading some to wonder if he was being “paraded” out in an attempt to restore his damaged reputation.

Yet his appearances seemed to always involve him either trashing President Donald Trump and his top officials, or lecturing the president’s supporters about one thing or another.

During one appearance that afternoon on Fox News’ “Outnumbered,” he used the president’s coronavirus diagnosis from earlier that morning to lecture the president’s supporters about wearing a mask.

“If I could say one thing to all of the people out there watching: Forget the politics. This is a public safety health issue. The president of the United States is in the most secure bubble in the world in the sense that everybody who comes in contact with him has to take a test, and he still got it, so wear the damn mask and follow the science!” he exclaimed.

But some have argued that the president’s diagnosis proves that even the strictest protocols and lockdown measures can’t prevent the spread of the virus, thus suggesting that the focus should be on protecting the vulnerable, not restricting the movements and lives of those who are at significantly lower risk of contracting the virus.

He also appeared on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” where he proceeded to question White House coronavirus adviser Dr. Scott Atlas’s otherwise unblemished credentials.

The rant was provoked by Atlas having predicted that the president and first lady Melania Trump will make “a complete, full and rapid recovery.”

“I’m going to say something and, folks, I’m just trying to give you the truth. Dr. Scott Atlas is not an epidemiologist, is not an infectious disease specialist. He has no training in this area at all,” the opinionated “newsman” opined.

“I know I’m going to get a lot of pushback from this. … One, he can’t know, because the president is just in the earliest stages of this. And two, I understand the desire of the White House and its political people to try to talk this down, and I’m not certainly trying to talk it up, and I hope and pray the president is fine.”

He definitely got a lot of “pushback.”

Wallace reportedly appeared on the network several additional times Friday, inspiring critics to complain that Fox was parading him out like a “king.”

According to legendary Hollywood actor James Woods, however, Wallace “is done,” and there’s nothing that can be done or said to restore his credibility.

Others seem to share this belief.

Look (*Language warning):

The truth is that Wallace isn’t done until Fox News decides he’s done, ergo why some have begun petitioning the network to boot him from Fox News’ “Fox News Sunday” and replace him with Brit Hume.

“Fox News senior political correspondent Brit Hume has emerged as someone who, without being entirely deferential to the president, at least appears to many as a far more objective anchor and less prone to developing ‘narratives’ instead of questions aimed at Trump administration officials and the president himself,” BizPac Review writer Jon Dougherty opined after the first debate earlier this week.

“It’s refreshing to see a newsman with Hume’s experience not succumb to the biases of his industry and politics in general that he’s lost the ability to be an honest broker of what is happening around him (and us). Increasingly, it is becoming more difficult to say the same about Wallace. So, here’s an informal petition imploring Fox News to salvage Fox News Sunday; swap Chris Wallace for Brit Hume permanently and watch the ratings soar!”

A petition has also emerged on Change.org calling for Wallace’s complete ouster. It appears folks just want him to go away already.
