An anti-Trump zealot from New York is facing a litany of charges thanks to her apparent disdain for the president and Republican Party.
Meet Deana M. Algarin, a 45-year-old woman who allegedly “used” six children, some of them under the age of 15, to steal campaign signs for President Donald Trump and New York Rep. Elise Stefanik from homes in Tribes Hill and Amsterdam.
According to a statement from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office posted to Facebook, Algarin was busted on Sunday with both the six kids and the Trump/Stefanik signs in her car.
“It was learned that Deana M. Algarin was driving 6 juveniles around so they could steal the signs. Deana was stopped by the New York State Police on County Highway 103 in Schenectady County after Montgomery County Dispatchers were able to locate the car, the signs were located within the vehicle,” the office said.
“Deana was taken into custody and charged with 6 counts of endangering the welfare of a child, criminal possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana, petit larceny and 2 citations for no seatbelt on a child less than 15 Y/O. Deana is to appear in The Town of Amsterdam, the Town of Glen, and the Town of Glenville Courts at later dates.”
It appears the charges are all misdemeanors. It’s unclear how much time she faces.

As the pivotal 2020 race draws closer, the number of criminal cases pertaining to stolen signs seems to be exploding, though at least it’s a bipartisan event.
A search for the terms “Biden Signs Stolen” on Google brought up 177,000 news results as of Thursday morning, whereas a search for the terms “Trump Signs Stolen” brought up 268,000 results.
Predictably, it appears the mainstream media have only chosen to highlight the cases involving Biden signs being stolen.
“The latest battlefield in a heated presidential campaign: Front yards bearing Biden signs,” The Washington Post reported in August.
A search of the Post uncovered no recent stories pertaining to stolen Trump signs. But a search did reveal this horrifying column from 2016:
Conversely, Fox News covered Algarin’s arrest this week but doesn’t appear to have run any recent stories about Biden signs being stolen.
The latest theft of Biden signs happened in Park City, Utah, where local authorities reportedly “received two reports of signs in support of Biden disappearing from someone’s property,” according to a report filed Thursday.
“The two cases, reported in disparate locations inside Park City, were called in to the police in the days before the first debate between Biden and Trump, which was scheduled on Tuesday night,” the Park Record reported.
Likewise, one of the latest thefts of Trump signs (not including the Algarin case) happened in Huntsville, Alabama, where yet another anti-Trump woman was caught on camera not only stealing a Trump sign, but also humiliating herself.
“The footage shows the suspect leave her car quickly, grab the sign, and then she notices a nearby driver looking on as she commits a crime. The woman then runs in front of the car, falls at [her] car door and eventually speeds away,” local station WHNT reported.

Patton Hammitte, the owner of the sign, claims the woman has been showing off her stolen signs on Snapchat.
“We saw the girl’s Snapchat story with her car filled with signs. It sends a terrible message that she and people like her have no respect for people’s property. It’s illegal what she did. I did file a police report so she knows we are serious,” she said.
Some looters are even targeting Trump campaign officers.
“Amanda Borghese works out of the Office to Re-elect the President in Fernandina Beach. She said she pays out of pocket for Donald Trump signs and many of them have been taken,” Jacksonville, Florida station WJAX reported Tuesday.
“Every day, if we leave the signs out overnight, the yard signs, whether it’s Black Voices for Trump or Trump – Pence, we find them on the ground or we find them stolen or we find them mutilated,” she said to the latest.
