It was nice while it lasted …
It appears the titillating love affair between liberal Democrats and notorious anti-Trump zealot George Conway, the husband of former White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, has finally crashed and burned as all affairs are wont to do.
Of course, this doesn’t mean they won’t eventually make up …
Regardless, Conway’s love affair is now in shambles because of his decision to do the utterly unthinkable and defend Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett.
It began at 5:15 pm Saturday when Conway posted tweets in what appeared to be a bid to convince his fellow liberals that Barrett would never overturn Roe v. Wade.
Look:
Judge Amy Coney Barrett on Roe v. Wade and abortion:
“I think it is very unlikely at this point that the court is going to overturn Roe …. The fundamental element, that the woman has a right to choose abortion, will probably stand.” https://t.co/8DsAsDgJGr
— George Conway (@gtconway3d) September 26, 2020
“Barrett said it is important to recognize the emotional and physical difficulty of carrying an unwanted pregnancy to term.” https://t.co/8DsAsDgJGr
— George Conway (@gtconway3d) September 26, 2020
“‘Motherhood is a privilege, but it comes at a price,” [Barrett] said. ‘A woman who wants to become pregnant accepts this price, but in an unplanned pregnancy the woman faces the difficulties of pregnancy unwillingly.’”https://t.co/8DsAsDgJGr
— George Conway (@gtconway3d) September 26, 2020
“Many women who choose to abort an unwanted pregnancy are both poor and single, Barrett said, and therefore do not have the means to raise a child properly. She said this ought to be an area of focus for addressing the abortion issue.”https://t.co/8DsAsDgJGr
— George Conway (@gtconway3d) September 26, 2020
“‘I think supporting poor, single mothers would be the best way to reduce the number of abortions in the U.S.,’ Barrett said.”https://t.co/8DsAsDgJGr
— George Conway (@gtconway3d) September 26, 2020
STRIKE ONE
These tweets inspired a self-identified journalist to ask him whether GOP senators might vote against Barrett’s nomination “because they feel she is not qualified.”
In response Conway said that’ll never happen because Barrett is qualified.
Look:
Is it possible some GOP senators will vote *against* confirming her because they feel she is not qualified?
— Natasha Stoynoff ✒️ (@Tashka9) September 26, 2020
No. Not a chance. She is eminently qualified to serve on the Supreme Court.
— George Conway (@gtconway3d) September 26, 2020
Strike Two
The journalist replied by asking “might there be some Republicans who feel she won’t make fair enough decisions?”
Yet once again Conway rushed to Barrett’s rescue, telling the journalist that there’s no reason to doubt her fairness or integrity.
Look:
I get it that she’s qualified re her official experience.
But might there be some Republicans who feel she won’t make fair enough decisions for the SC and vote nay?
(Ugh. I can feel my naivety seep out from my fingers as I type those words…)— Natasha Stoynoff ✒️ (@Tashka9) September 26, 2020
There’s no reason to doubt her fairness or integrity.

Strike Three, You’re Out
For three years Conway has ruthlessly trashed the president without a semblance of remorse. But thanks to his unexpected decision to back Barrett, now he’s getting to learn the hard way what it feels like to be unfairly smeared and insulted.
As of Sunday morning, his tweets had been ratioed to oblivion, with leftists famous and unfamous alike rushing forth from their basements to disparage him.
One of them even called him a conman, ironically enough given how often he calls the president (a man he hates, perhaps because of jealousy?) a conman.
“With ‘friends’ like you, who needs enemies?” another wrote.
Here’s a small sampling of the bubbling rage (*Language warning):
George Conway is a con man. it’s in his name. He personally dislikes Trump, not his policies. Like the other worms at the Lincoln Project, they are just mad that Trump is an incompetent fascist, not that it’s his ideology.

I hope your daughter gets the emancipation she seeks from you, because she deserves the right to control her own body
— Stefanie #VOTEEARLY Weiss 🔥 (@EcoSexuality) September 27, 2020
Your poor daughter. I knew there was a reason you were married to that lying woman. Go away now, Georgie. With “friends” like you, who needs enemies?
— Lisa Newburn (@lisa_pearl_) September 27, 2020
Did anyone think that @gtconway3d and @ProjectLincoln were anything other than wolves in sheep’s clothing?
When it came time for them to take a actual stand for functioning democracy, they showed their true colors.
— Mark Shrime, MD PhD (@markshrime) September 27, 2020
George Conway is here to remind you that The Lincoln Project Republicans want to control women’s bodies too—they’ll just revert back to the old GOP tactic of whittling away at clinic access for poor women to do it.
They. Aren’t. Your. Friends. https://t.co/LxgrDHvjw7

Hate to say I told you so on George Conway. Don’t know why people fall for this shit. pic.twitter.com/9z5Ram0JVx
— Amy Siskind (@Amy_Siskind) September 27, 2020
Check out this fraud trying to rehabilitate Amy Coney Barrett’s extremist position on abortion FIFTEEN MINUTES after her nomination was announced. George Conway is not your friend. He is lying about the impact Barrett would have on the court. You are not required to fall for it https://t.co/QHX7onjD0P
— Meagan Hatcher-Mays (@importantmeagan) September 27, 2020
Ouch.
But also LOL. What did Conway and the rest of his pals at the Lincoln Project, all of whom have been substantively accused of being grifters, think would happen? Did they really believe they’d be spared the metaphorical guillotine just because they seem to spend their every waking moment obsessively trash-talking the president?
LMAO! It is SO classic George Conway is getting cancelled on left, which used to love him, for daring to speak up for Amy Barrett.
It’s very telling about the true view of intellectual freedom among the Woke crowd & price @ProjectLincoln pays for becoming “enslaved” by leftists. https://t.co/lvAcHzCn47
— John Ziegler (@Zigmanfreud) September 27, 2020
No, sorry, but the metaphorical guillotine invariably comes for everybody who’s to the right of, say, Karl Marx …
Nice try, though!
