Democrats keep issuing threats …

As in elected Democrats, not just random liberal Democrats.

Elected Democrats like Sen. Richard Blumenthal, who threatened in a tweet posted Saturday afternoon that “nothing is off the table” if his Republican colleagues go against his party’s wishes and vote on President Donald Trump’s expected SCOTUS nominee.

“If Republicans recklessly & reprehensibly force a SCOTUS vote before the election—nothing is off the table,” the full tweet by the Connecticut senator reads.

Look:

As of Sunday afternoon, the tweet boasted a 222 percent ratio. Ouch.

While numerous Democrats have issued similar threats, what rubbed folks the wrong way about his particular tweet was the lack of specifics.

Other threats included warnings such as “we’ll pack the courts” or “well abolish the filibuster.” But Blumenthal’s tweet contained none of that.

This, therefore, raised some questions. Like one Twitter user angrily clapped back in response to the senator’s tweet, “What’s that supposed to mean, Dick?”

Look at this and similar responses below (*Language warning):

You get the picture.

This is why it’s generally wise to speak with precise specifics when issuing threats.

Of course, most people already know what he meant. Within the past 48 hours, liberal Democrats — some of them elected, others not — have threatened to pack the courts, abolish the filibuster, riot and “burn the entire f–king thing down.”

The irony isn’t lost on Blumenthal’s critics, many of whom have pointed out that Democrats have been issuing these threats — and sometimes even acting on them — since the moment President Donald Trump won the 2016 race.

Like one critic wrote, “You’re already doing all of that!”

Indeed.

Look:

Blumenthal himself is guilty of this.

Flashback to 2018, when he ruthlessly attacked then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh by giving credence to a patently absurd accusation that the now-justice had once participated in a “gang rape” and was a serial rapist.

FYI, that “gang rape” never happened

There’s also the hypocrisy factor to consider.

When then-President Barack Hussein Obama nominated Judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court after Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia’s death in 2016, Blumenthal urged his Republican colleagues in the Senate to hold hearings.

Look:

Four years later, it’s an entirely different story. To be fair, it is as well for his Republican colleagues, as pointed out in the blunt tweet below by Megyn Kelly:
