It’s over for the Nobel Peace Prize …
After a 119-year run, the Nobel Peace Prize faces cancellation from some members of the left now that President Donald Trump has been nominated for it again.
On Wednesday, Christian Tybring-Gjedde, a member of the Norwegian parliament for the populist Progress Party, nominated Trump for the prize over the historic peace deal between Israel and the UAE that his administration has reached.

He said: “Trump has broken a 39-year-old streak of American Presidents either starting a war or bringing the United States an international armed conflict.” pic.twitter.com/m5Qu3DibnB

“For his merit, I think he has done more trying to create peace between nations than most other Peace Prize nominees,” Tybring-Gjedde, who also serves as the chairman of the Norwegian delegation to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, said to Fox News.
“I’m not a big Trump supporter. The committee should look at the facts and judge him on the facts – not on the way he behaves sometimes. The people who have received the Peace Prize in recent years have done much less than Donald Trump. For example, Barack Obama did nothing.”
Two days later, Swedish politician Magnus Jacobsson announced via Twitter that he’s nominating the Trump administration as a whole for the prize as well over the administration’s successful efforts at promoting peace abroad.

I have nominated the US Gov. and the governments of Kosovo and Serbia for the Nobel Peace Prize for their joint work for peace and economic development, through the cooperation agreement signed in the White House. In response to these nominations, both the left AND China pounced.
The Atlantic staff writer Graeme Wood published a nearly 1500-word-long screed Friday calling for the Nobel Peace Prize to be outright canceled.
Why? Because #OrangeManBad and because Tybring-Gjedde, whose views on immigration do not coincide with the left’s view on the issue, is allegedly a “troll.”
I met that Norwegian guy who nominated Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize: https://t.co/Bh1IFCUEi9 (today in @TheAtlantic)

Plenty of other prominent members of the media eagerly agreed with him:
.@gcaw correctly argues that we’d be better off without the Nobel Peace Prize, a dubious distinction with a very spotty track record of actually promoting peace: https://t.co/947ZQVGNZ2

“Do you deserve a prize for maintaining despots, as long as the despots are part of a stable network? Is it given for accidentally wrecking a great military—or only if the destruction is intentional?” — Read @gcaw:https://t.co/m1luO2lR5O

“Peace does not mean a web of personal agreements between rich psychopaths” https://t.co/WZ8WFVA0Zc

Jeffrey Goldberg is the same “journalist” behind the dubious “losers and suckers” claim.
China, which for the record is supporting Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election, also joined the chorus.
“Seriously, Trump? Many are mocking this absurdity. What has he done to ‘create peace between nations?” the Chinese Communist Party’s Global Times newspaper wrote.
“Trump has nothing to do with ‘peace.’ The negative impact he has imposed on world peace is far greater than the positive push. Just take a look at what Trump has done: withdrawing from Paris Agreement and the Iran nuclear deal. He launched a trade war and directly provoked a China-US confrontation. Apparently, Trump was enthusiastic about the nomination, retweeting a dozen or so tweets announcing this news.”
“Who really thinks Trump has promoted the world peace today?” the paper added.
Everybody but members of the American left, including those in media (case in point below), and Democrat-friendly Chinese Communists?
President @realDonaldTrump’s Nobel Peace Prize nomination for the Kosovo Serbia Agreement is not on @cnn’s homepage.
But they do have The Best Shower heads of 2020.

To some, it feels as if members of the media are purposefully being contrarian just for the hell of it. Either that or their hatred for Trump runs that deep, because like left-of-center commentator Tim Pool noted, they’re never willing to give Trump credit.

They can’t give Trump one good day

I don’t expect the media to like Trump and don’t care about the Nobel, but the hostility here is discrediting. pic.twitter.com/UXSVSgU5jc

This is silly. Trump does something worthy of it, so the entire system must be burned down?

The Left is now calling for an end to the Nobel Peace Prize…
Because President Trump was nominated.
What a bunch of sore losers 🤣

Why wasn’t this argued in 2009?

The same disease that prevents members of the left from giving the president any credit seems to have also infected Biden.
During a speaking event with the Jewish community this week, he claimed Trump is “dangerous” to Israel and bad for the Jewish people.
Given the big announcement this week that even Bahrain is now normalizing relations with Israel thanks to the Trump administration, the claim by Biden seemed outrageously absurd.

Just as absurd, in fact, as the assertion that, after a 119-year run, the Nobel Peace Prize should suddenly be canceled because #OrangeManBad …
