Perhaps The Hill just needs to hire “more experienced” interns?

Following President Donald Trump’s rally in North Carolina this Tuesday, The Hill published a story titled, “Trump, supporters gather without masks in NC despite request from local GOP official.”

For the story’s featured image, The Hill used a photo of the president standing before a crowd of cheering supporters.

Look closely at a screenshot of the since-deleted image below:

Notice anything odd?

As noted by the president’s son Donald Trump Jr. in the tweet below, everybody standing behind his father was wearing a mask.

Look:

This isn’t to say that everybody who attended the rally did wear a mask. Other images from the rally did show some supporters not wearing a mask.

Yet for some reason, The Hill chose to use a photo of Trump supporters all wearing a mask and then juxtaposed that image with a contradictory title.

This isn’t a new phenomenon. It fits a growing trend in the media.

During the violent riots in Minneapolis following George Floyd’s death in May, an MSNBC “journalist” described the events around him as “mostly a protest,” even as buildings behind him were burning.

And during the violent riots in Kenosha, Wisconsin, three months later, a CNN “journalist” described the events around him as a “peaceful protest,” even as, once again, buildings behind him were burning.

Like Fox News host Jesse Watters warned on a recent episode of Fox News’ “Watters World,” “You’re being told not to trust what you see with your own eyes. If you hear something, you’re told you didn’t actually hear it.”

How Orwellian …

Responding to The Hill’s contradictory story, even some virulent Trump haters expressed exasperation.

Look (*Language warning):

So why did The Hill do this anyway? While several theories exist — one of them being that the paper’s interns are incompetent — outspoken conservative Hollywood actor James Woods believes the media “simply don’t care” about the truth anymore.

Look:

Frankly, it shows.

The American people’s trust in the media has fallen to a record low:

But instead of modifying their behavior, the media keep doubling, tripling and quadrupling down on their Orwellian, truth-averse “reporting.”

For instance, according to the media the president is hemorrhaging supporters and heading into a surefire defeat come November.

In reality, the president seems to be faring just fine.

Case in point from Tuesday’s rally:

Even environmentalists have begun turning in the president’s favor.

On Monday Politico ran a story outlining how Trump’s Environmental Protection Agency has been so successful in some of its endeavors that some “activists are voting Republican for the first time in their lives.”

“I been a Democrat all my life. Trump actually gives us money to clean up these sites that have been here forever,” one activist said.

Under Trump’s leadership, the EPA cleaned up polluted areas whose hazardous materials had been affecting local residents’ health.

“Obama talked a lot of crap, but did very little. And people don’t realize that. They want to praise him, but he didn’t do nothing. He didn’t do s–t,” the activist added.

Meanwhile in The Hill’s world, here’s how they chose to respond to the backlash against their contradictory post:

OK …
