Rapper Cardi B shared video of a foul-mouthed confrontation between her sister, Hennessy Carolina, and a group of Trump supporters at a beach, in which the entertainer claimed it was race-driven.
“Meanwhile not only you got racist [MAGA] supporters that are [lynching], racist cop shootings and killing black men all cause their leader make them feel like they could do so,” Cardi B, 27, wrote on Instagram to her 75 million followers.
The Daily Mail posted the heavily-bleeped video.
“My sister couldn’t even park her car today with out this man harassing her girlfriend soon as the camera came out they started being sweet .TGIS BRAVENESS IS COMING FROM THEIR LEADERS ENERGY,” Cardi B wrote in defense of Hennessy, 24.
The video is taken by Hennessey at a beach, though it’s not clear where it is located. She is seen arguing with three people — two men and one woman. One of the men is wearing a “Make America Great Again” cap.
The confrontation appears to be over where Hennessy has parked her vehicle.
“Get your vehicle out of here,” one of the men calmly asks, to which Hennessy snaps, “Get the f**k out of my face!”
“Ok, don’t EVER come to a female [unintelligible] while I’m not here,” Hennessy shouted, in reference to her girlfriend, the Daily Mail reported.
Hennessy continues to rant at the three, at one point telling them to “back the f**k off [her] car.”
At that, the woman approaches and the two begin shouting at each other.
“You’re blocking some people!” says the woman.
“I hope you know that you will be online and your husband,” Hennessy says in response.
At that, the woman flips Hennessy the middle finger and begins chanting, “Trump!” repeatedly.
After posting the video online, Hennessy posted another message to Instagram, in which she claimed the incident was race-related, saying she was “sad and angry.”
“This f**king racism and police brutality still going on in 2020 is f**king insane!!!!” Hennessy wrote, adding that people in the U.S. “are dead out here being proud and racist harassing people while wearing they MAGA hat like if they know the government going to hold them down is ridiculous!”
She finished her post with, “F**k Donald Trump [and] suck my d**k if you support that n***a and you racist [as f**k].”
In a follow-up, she noted further, “I can’t believe [the people in the video] are openly harassing a lesbian and being racist while wearing a Maga hat literally super confident knowing the president is permitting and encouraging them to yell at people ‘go back to your country.”
She also accused Twitter and Facebook of “shadow banning” her because of her anti-Trump rhetoric.
Opponents of President Donald Trump have frequently claimed that the iconic red MAGA hat worn by many of his supporters is a symbol of ‘racism,’ but that is merely a matter of interpretation.
Scores of black Americans have supported the president, with many who have met him or who know him attesting that he is no racist.
