Fox News’ Chris Wallace, a frequent Trump critic, will moderate the first presidential debate on September 29 in Cleveland, Ohio.
Wallace — a registered Democrat — joins reporters from NBC and C-Span in a lineup of moderators announced by the Commission on Presidential Debates.
The second debate, which is scheduled for October 15, will be moderated by C-Span political editor Steve Scully, who was an intern for Joe Biden when he was a senator.
The third presidential debate on October 22 will be moderated by NBC News reporter Kristen Welker, who has repeatedly slammed Trump.
The vice presidential debate on October 7 between Mike Pence and Kamala Harris will be moderated by USA Today’s Susan Page. Page is currently writing a biography of Democrat Nancy Pelosi with the flattering title “Madam Speaker: Nancy Pelosi/Lessons of Power.”
CNN — which usually is chosen to moderate — was shut out from the latest lineup.
The selection of Chris Wallace received mixed reviews, with many Trump supporters arguing that Wallace is not an objective journalist. He has repeatedly made snide remarks about President Trump.
In December 2019, Wallace accused Trump of being “engaged in the most direct, sustained assault on freedom of the press in our history.”
Wallace continued: “He has done everything he can to undercut the media, to try and delegitimize us. I think his purpose is clear: to raise doubts when we report critically about him and his administration that we can be trusted.”
Predictably, Wallace did not mention that Barack Obama prosecuted and spied on reporters that he deemed unfriendly to his administration.
In addition to designating former Fox News reporter James Rosen a “criminal co-conspirator,” Obama seized two months of telephone records of various Associated Press reporters and editors.
Twitter blasted Wallace, saying he will not be an objective moderator.
“President Trump to debate 2 liberals who hate him in 1st debate: Joe Biden and Chris Wallace.”

One Twitter user wondered: “Is Chris Wallace going to finish Joe’s sentences for him?”
That caused a Trump supporter to reply: “Yes. And Chris Wallace is already sending the debate questions to Joe Biden’s team.”

Investigative journalist Paul Sperry remarked: “Fox News Sunday’s Chris Wallace — who is a registered Democrat — and his wife Lorraine enjoy a special friendship with Democratic Rep. Debbie Dingell.”
Sperry followed up by asking: “Will registered Democrat Chris Wallace consult with BFF Debbie Dingell on what questions to ask Trump in first presidential debate?”
It’s amazing that the presidential debates are even happening, since Democrats like Nancy Pelosi didn’t want Joe Biden to debate at all.
Pelosi raised her objections shortly after President Trump said he wanted both himself and Biden to be drug-tested in light of Biden’s questionable mental fitness.
Trump also said he had asked to stand during the debates, but the Democrats want Biden to sit. “I want all standing,” Trump said. “They want to sit down.”

Fox News host Tucker Carlson thinks one thing Biden should be asked is why he hasn’t disavowed the curious link between Antifa thugs and his campaign.
If you type “Antifa.com” into your Web browser, you automatically get redirected to the “Joe Biden for president” website.
Carlson said this bizarre connection — whether intentional or a joke — is a damning indictment of Biden that underscores his support for violent left-wing mobs terrorizing law-abiding Americans.
