President Trump said he won’t meet with Jacob Blake’s family when he visits Kenosha, Wisconsin today because the goodwill meeting was devolving into a litigious spectacle.

However, Trump said he spoke with the pastor of Blake’s mother and did not rule out a future meeting with the family.

“I thought it would be better not to do anything where there are lawyers involved,” Trump said yesterday at a White House press briefing. “They wanted to have lawyers involved. I thought that was inappropriate.”

Trump continued: “I did speak with the pastor of the family, who’s a fine man, a wonderful man. We had a great talk. And I may at some point [meet with Jacob Blake’s family] but they have a lawyer that wanted to be on the phone. So I said no, that’s inappropriate. But I gave my best regards.”

By insisting on having their lawyers present, the Blake family signaled their dubious intentions. It’s unseemly to try to set a legal trap for the president when he merely wants to visit you and wish you well.

Imagine the left-wing outrage if a white man who was shot while resisting arrest demanded to have his lawyers present when Barack Obama wanted to visit his family.

Jacob Blake is a career criminal who was shot by police while resisting arrest after he allegedly assaulted a woman.

At the time Blake was shot on August 23, he was reportedly reaching into a car to get a knife.

Police say Blake had put one cop in a headlock and ignored two attempts to Taser him while resisting arrest.

The Kenosha police were trying to apprehend Blake because he had an outstanding arrest warrant for felony sexual assault and violated a restraining order filed by his ex-girlfriend.

The Left is lionizing Blake because he’s a black man who was shot by police. It no longer matters to the Left if a police shooting was justified.

Moreover, there is no evidence that the shooting was racially-motivated, even though it’s being used to promote the trope of the “racist cop.”

This false narrative about white cops killing black men is the basis of the nonstop Black Lives Matter riots that have ravaged the country since May.

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld said Democrats and Joe Biden are now in serious trouble politically for not condemning the left-wing riots earlier.

Gutfeld pointed out that Democrats avoided the topic of left-wing violence altogether at the Democratic National Convention.

After Biden failed to get a post-convention bounce in the polls, the Democrats and their media minions shifted strategies by blaming Trump supporters for the violence.

Gutfeld said no one’s buying their baloney.

“It’s really going to be hard to pin this on Trump after he offered aid to the liberal mayors, which they rejected, while Democrat leaders such as Kamala Harris was endorsing posting bail for the rioters,” Gutfeld noted.

Greg reiterated: “While Trump was offering [federal aid] to stop the destruction, Democrats were letting the destroyers out [of jail] so they could loot and burn again.”

Greg Gutfeld outlined the Democrats’ losing strategy:

1. Ignore the left-wing violence and mock those who were concerned about it.
2. Reject Trump’s offer of federal aid to stem the riots.
3. Bail out rioting thugs so they can burn, loot and murder (BLM) again.

Gutfeld said: “The Democrats botched their convention by avoiding the violence altogether. [Biden] is in trouble.”
