A C-Span caller who’s a lifelong Democrat from a liberal Ohio town said he was so inspired and moved by the Republican National Convention that he will now support the Republican Party.
“I’m a lifelong Democrat. I’m from Lorain, which is a Democrat city in Ohio,” said a caller named Rick. “We are a Democrat town, and we have been for 50 years. After watching the [RNC] convention tonight, I am definitely changing my vote to Republican. They put the Democrat Party to shame. I’m going to file with the Republican Party now.”
When asked by the C-Span host what convinced Rick to switch sides, he said the Republican Party appeals to everyday, middle-class Americans like him.
“It was the heartfelt way they came across to the American people,” Rick said.
Rick also said he was touched by Republicans’ open embrace of God, as contrasted with the nihilistic, soulless Democrats.
“I was really touched by the number of times they used the word ‘God.’ They put God into everything,” Rick remarked. “The people on the Democrat side at their convention acted like they were pushing God right out of it. And that had a lot to do with changing my mind.”
In 2016, President Trump lost Ohio’s Lorain County to Hillary Clinton by less than 200 votes, but he won the state.
Rick the C-Span caller joins a growing legion of lifelong Democrats who are switching sides to vote for President Trump in November.
They cite their mounting disgust with the Democrats’ race-baiting hypocrisy, and their embrace of leftist thugs who are burning down Democrat-controlled cities across America.
Civil-rights attorney Leo Terrell is a lifelong Democrat and former Trump critic. Last month, Terrell announced on live TV that he will vote for President Trump in November, citing the Democrat Party’s utter failure over the years.
Terrell said this will be the first time in his life that he will vote for a Republican.
Terrell said he’s tired of the Democrats’ hollow lip service to championing the middle class and minorities and their decades-long history of broken promises.
“What the Democrats do not want to hear is that Trump has done more in three years than what Obama and Biden did in eight years,” Terrell said.

Similarly, Democrat Vernon Jones — a member of the Georgia House of Representatives — recently hopped on the Trump Train.
Jones has repeatedly slammed the Democrat Party for exploiting black Americans for votes and then callously ignoring them after the election passes.
Jones has frequently said that President Trump “has done more for black Americans than any other president in modern history.”
Predictably, the left-wing media like MSNBC insulted Vernon Jones by calling him a shill. Jones reacted by torpedoing his critics out of the water.

Vernon Jones said that throughout his political career, he has always put the interests of his constituents above partisan politics. And he’ll do that again when he casts his vote for President Trump in November.
“This is not about politics,” Jones underscored. “This is about putting your country before politics, putting your country before the party. President Trump is right on target with results. Prior to the pandemic, he had the best economy that we’ve had going back years and years and years. The Democratic Party chose to put illegals [above law-abiding Americans for decades].”
