The left proved once again that they are willing to eat their own in order to shield presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden.

NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell was pilloried after she dared to point out that the former vice president and his newly named running mate, Sen. Kamala Harris, “declined” to take questions from reporters following a prepared speech.

And there were plenty of questions to be had following the remarks which included an eyebrow-raising proposal by Biden to impose a national mask mandate on Americans for the next three months as a deterrent against the coronavirus pandemic.

“Every single American should be wearing a mask when they’re outside for the next three months at a minimum,” Biden said. “Every governor should mandate mandatory mask-wearing. The estimates by the experts are it will save over 40,000 lives in the next three months if people act responsibly. It’s not about your rights, it’s about your responsibilities as an American.”

His plan confused former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer who questioned how it would even play out during a Fox News interview. But Fleischer and Fox News host Dana Perino both slammed Biden and Harris for scrambling away without answering reporters’ questions.

“He left without taking any questions to explain it. How can you just say something like that and not explain it?” Fleischer demanded as Perino agreed that it is probably not “sustainable” to avoid questions.

Another opportunity to answer questions directly seemed to be interrupted by Biden’s team.

O’Donnell’s observation in her tweet of the simple fact that Biden and Harris would not respond to questions sparked a wave of protective counter-attacks against NBC’s White House correspondent.

Atlantic contributing editor Norman Ornstein fired away, followed by a boatload of liberal Twitter users. Apparently, the media doing their jobs and asking the Democrats any questions is related somehow to the press’s treatment of President Donald Trump.

Many pointed out that it is just too soon to be asking the tough questions since Harris was only just added to the Democrat ticket.

Some comments were just alarming in their suggestions.

And plenty just tore at O’Donnell.

In the end, the irony of the left calling out O’Donnell proved to be entertaining, and very telling, for other Twitter users.
