Larry Klayman, the conservative attorney known for his 1990s lawsuits against the Clinton administration and his founding of Judicial Watch and Freedom Watch, has sued CNN for allegedly defaming him and his client, Dr. Judy Mikovits.

The suit targets CNN the network, notoriously hypocritical CNN senior media reporter Oliver Darcy, and CNN president and CEO Jeff Zucker.

View the suit below:

Mikovits is the author of “Plague of Corruption” and star of the documentary “Plandemic,” which has been disparaged by the media and banned by social media over claims that it’s brimming with  “misinformation” about the coronavirus.

In late July, the media conglomerate Sinclair announced that it would be airing an interview between Dr. Mikovits and “America This Week” host Eric Bolling.

Soon after, Darcy published a report in which he accused Mikovits of propagating a “baseless conspiracy theory” that “Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top expert on infectious diseases, was responsible for the creation of the coronavirus.”

He took shots at Klayman as well.

“Bolling also spoke with Mikovits’ attorney, Larry Klayman, a right-wing lawyer who also has a history of pushing misinformation and representing conspiracy theorists. … Klayman also pushed conspiracy theories about the coronavirus. He said the ‘origins’ of the virus were in the United States,” Darcy wrote.

Filed Tuesday, the suit by Klayman points to Darcy’s attack on him as evidence that CNN had orchestrated a “malicious effort to smear and defame Plaintiff’s client, Dr. Judy Mikovits,” by first smearing him.

“This defamatory attack on Plaintiff had a dual purpose, to also in order to further defame by mutual association Mr. Klayman’s client, Dr. Judy Mikovits, a renowned virologist and PhD in Biology, who had given an interview to Eric Bolling of the Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns hundreds of local television stations throughout the United States, in which she stated that Dr. Anthony Fauci had sent the seeds of the COVID-19 virus from the U.S. military’s laboratory at Ft. Detrick, Maryland to a Communist Chinese government-owned laboratory in Wuhan, China, along with grant money allocated during the Obama administration, for research purposes, since to do the research in this country would have been illegal,” the suit reads.

“Importantly, Dr. Mikovits had worked intimately with Dr. Fauci at Ft. Detrick and at the National Institutes of Health and other fora, and has first-hand knowledge of Dr. Fauci’s role in proximately causing COVID-19 to be created by the Communist Chinese government-owned laboratory in Wuhan.”

Klayman further argues that this smearing was perpetrated to protect and promote Fauci, whom he describes in the suit as “a favorite of leftist media such as CNN, since his questionable, if not poor advice to the president contributed and was instrumental to the virtual shutdown of the American economy during the COVID-19 pandemic, resulting in huge losses in the American stock market, large unemployment and business failures, detrimental to the reelection of President Trump, notwithstanding the abridgment of civil liberties under our Constitution and its Bill of Rights.”

“Thus, anyone who criticizes Dr. Fauci … must have their reputation destroyed by leftist media such as CNN and the other Defendants,” he continues. “The obvious mission of CNN and the other Defendants is to promote and protect Dr. Fauci, since he is a convenient vehicle and tool to destroy the political ambitions of President Trump to be reelected.”

This point appears to be valid for anyone whom the media view as a good guy or gal. Take presumptive Democrat vice-presidential nominee Kamala Harris. The media have begun demanding that she be immune from criticism.

Klayman continues his suit by pointing out that the attacks by CNN and other networks effectively not only forced Sinclair to cancel the airing of the interview between Bolling and Mikovits, but also prompted Bolling into issuing an apology to Fauci.

All this, he continued, in addition to CNN, Darcy and Zucker allegedly refusing to “issue an apology” to him, has damaged his reputation.

“Plaintiff has been damaged by these malicious false and misleading statements because the statements severely harmed and damaged Plaintiff in his professions as pubic (sic) interest and private practitioner lawyers and radio talk show hosts, whose credibility is the most important trait, as well as personally. Plaintiff was damaged in his good will and reputation and his financial well-being and ability to make a living for himself and his family,” the suit concludes.

The suit seeks $15,000 in damages, which is a far cry from the millions sought by Nick Sandmann after he was smeared by CNN. The former Covington Catholic High School student eventually settled earlier this year for an unspecified amount.

In a statement issued after the filing of his suit Tuesday, Klayman vowed that CNN “will now be held” legally accountable.

“The Fake News CNN and its leftist Trump-hating CEO Zucker, along with their obedient business reporter Darcy, will now be held to legally account before a jury of their peers,” he said.

“It’s time that CNN, Zucker and Darcy have to answer for their dishonest reporting and defamation, calculated to protect Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has become the left’s Prophet Mohammad in bringing down the President of the United States through the doctor’s calculated advice and direct actions intended to destroy the American economy and deprive the American people of their civil liberties.”
