Comedian Robin Williams warned us years ago: ‘Rambling Joe Biden’ bit resurfaces

It seems late comedian Robin Williams warned America about “ramblin’ Joe Biden” years before the presumptive Democratic nominee was making headlines for his endless flubs.

Nearly a dozen years after Williams poked fun at then-Vice President Biden for his many verbal gaffes, a video of the comedy routine resurfaced on social media and has quickly gone viral. President Donald Trump’s son, Eric Trump was one of many who shared the 30-second video, tweeting the clip posted by Turning Point USA’s Benny Johnson.

Williams, who died in 2014, regularly injected political humor into his comedy routines and his HBO special “Weapons of Self Destruction” in 2009 was no exception.

“We still have comedy though, we still have great comedy out there. There’s always rambling Joe Biden. What the f–k,” Williams told the audience. “Joe says s–t that even people with Tourette’s go, ‘No, no. What is going on?'”

“Joe is like your uncle who is on a new drug and hasn’t got the dosage right,” he added as the crowd roared with laughter. “I’m proud to work with Barack America — ‘He’s not a superhero, you idiot — come here!’”

The clip sparked instant reaction on Twitter where it made the rounds just days before another of Biden’s infamous missteps as he came under fire Thursday when he appeared to suggest that African-Americans have no diversity when compared to Latinos.

“Unlike the African-American community, with notable exceptions, the Latino community is an incredibly diverse community with incredibly different attitudes about different things,” he told NPR reporter Lulu Garcia-Navarro this week.

Hours later, Biden walked back the comments, taking to Twitter to attempt to “clarify” what he meant to say. In a video call later in the day, he addressed the comments again, insisting he didn’t mean to suggest “the African American community is a monolith.”

President Trump wondered if something was “going on with him” when he was asked about the comments by reporters, saying Biden “disparaged and insulted the black community.”

Fox News host Greg Gutfeld predicted Biden won’t even make it to November, calling out Democrats for being in “full denial of a substantial, structural flaw” in their presumptive nominee.

“Their candidate may be losing his mind. It’s not even that. It’s not funny. It’s kind of sad because it would be okay if you could laugh about it,” he said on “The Five” Friday.

While the Williams comedy bit sent ripples of laughter on social media this week, some Twitter users were quick to point out that no one was immune from the late comedian’s pointed barbs, including Donald Trump, the real estate mogul.

Williams joked in the 2012 clip that Trump “plays Monopoly with real f—ing buildings.”

Twitter users noted that Williams’ assessment of Biden was spot on and still holds today, just months away from the 2020 election. Others pointed out how much the beloved actor and comedian, who would have turned 69 last month, is missed.
