Steve Hilton has issued a stern warning that the Trump campaign is sleepwalking into a far-left, Sleepy Joe Biden presidency because of the Team Trump’s “baffling complacency.”

Trump’s reelection inner circle needs to “get on with it,” with the president announcing an ongoing series of bold policies for the benefit of ordinary, hard-working Americans, because expensive commercials to which many voters pay little attention is not enough, Hilton claimed.

The “terrifying prospect” of a Biden presidency, compounded by radical Democrats controlling both chambers of Congress, gets closer each day, he declared, unless Team Trump gets its act together.

The host of FNC’s The Next Revolution with Steve Hilton delivered this tough wake-up call Sunday night on his program in the form of what he called a campaign memo.

Ironically, the Trump effort this time around is currently too low energy, he asserted, while to make matters worse, a Biden presidency brings with it more “bogus bureaucracy and “shutdown stupidity.’

Hilton continued:

“Where is the energy, where are the ideas in the hope for the future? Two weeks ago we were promised exciting policy announcements in the next two weeks. We’re still waiting….

“You don’t win elections with Facebook ads or digital strategy or whatever. Sure, they can help, but you win elections with ideas about the future, what you’re gonna do for people, the changes you will bring. We don’t see any of that from the Trump campaign,

“They seem to be sleepwalking into a Biden presidency in a total calamity of a Democrat takeover, House, Senate, White House, the law, unconstrained power to implement the most left-wing agenda ever put before the American people by a major party,” Hilton continued

“Wake up; we need to see a major Trump policy announcement or policy speech every week between now and November; nothing else will do. Get on with it or the country has sunk on coronavirus and everything else.”

A former adviser to ex-U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron,  Hilton’s show is the home of “positive populism.” He is a champion of opening up the economy while protecting those vulnerable to COVID-19. He has condemned the “clueless” political and media establishment for collapsing the once-booming American economy with massive shutdown orders.

With that in mind, he also cautioned that Biden intends to keep lockdown- and publicity-loving Dr. Anthony Fauci in his job as director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

In a shakeup in July 2020, veteran GOP strategist Bill Stepien replaced Brad Parscale as Trump campaign manager, although Parscale is still with the campaign in a senior position as digital czar.

“Sources close to the Trump campaign told Fox News that when the commercials resume, they’ll be targeting a group of states that are among the first to start early voting and absentee voting in late September. That appears to be a shift from the campaign’s previous strategy of launching ad blitzes across most of the key general election battlegrounds, regardless of when voting begins there,” FNC reported.

Last Friday, Trump perhaps confirmed this strategy when he tweeted that “We are doing a new ad campaign on Sleepy Joe Biden that will be out on Monday. He has been brought even further LEFT than Crazy Bernie Sanders ever thought possible. By the way, Bernie’s people love me on Trade!

While Biden hides in his basement, the Trump campaign has been hampered by an inability to stage large, enthusiastic, 2016-style rallies in the COVID environment, which common sense suggests is a ploy by fear-mongering Democrats and their media and public health allies.

On a more positive note, Hilton’s FNC colleague Jesse Watters claims that Trump has turned around his fortunes and is surging in most battleground/swing states contrary to public polling data.
