Describing what happened inside the Nevada legislature as a late-night coup, President Trump has vowed to take the state to court after the Democrat-controlled legislature fast-tracked the passage of a universal mail-in ballot law that includes allowing for a duplicitous process known as ballot harvesting.
In their ongoing power grab, Democrats continue to abide by the mantra of never letting a crisis go to waste by seizing upon the opportunity to implement voting by mail using the coronavirus as an excuse.
Earlier today, the president tweeted that “In an illegal late night coup, Nevada’s clubhouse Governor made it impossible for Republicans to win the state. Post Office could never handle the Traffic of Mail-In Votes without preparation. Using Covid to steal the state. See you in Court!”
“The legislature on Sunday pushed through the bill despite objections from Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske, the only statewide Republican elected official, on a party-line vote. It would give Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak the power to command the secretary of state to adjust election procedures during a state of emergency,” Fox News explained.
Sisolak is expected to sign the measure into law. As always, elections have consequences; in November 2018, Sisolak defeated Republican Adam Laxalt by a relatively narrow margin of 49.4 percent to 45.3 percent.
On his Twitter feed and in person, Trump has been a consistent foe of universal mail-in voting (as opposed an individual’s request for an absentee ballot). As Sunday, reacting to a Tweet by Laxalt, the president described the Nevada scheme as “outrageous” and “must be met with immediate litigation.”
Laxalt chimed in with another tweet about who actually crafted the legislation after Democrats jammed the bill through with no Republicans voting in favor during a very unusual vote Sunday session.
It’s plausible that one-or-more far-left activist groups trying to help Biden wrote the bill.
Nevada Democrats – zero Repubs and no Secretary of State. Not about Covid19 or all parties would have been at the table. Who did write the bill if not the head of elections(and Attorney General couldn’t be involved either without her or a conflict). Good question for media to ask https://t.co/2ds2z2enEW

As a businessman in his pre-politics days, Donald Trump was also quite litigious.
In May 2020, Trump floated the idea of withholding federal funds if Nevada went ahead with unmonitored voting by mail.
In recent weeks, the Trump team has won several voter-integrity cases in court; it remains to be seen how a legal challenge to the Nevada law will play out.
You may recall that ballot harvesting culminated in Democrats somewhat miraculously capturing a number of Republican-leaning California U.S. House seats even though the GOP was leading in them on Election Night.
With Nevada added to the list, eight states have now authorized universal mail-in voting, which results in ballots being sent to everyone on chronically out-0f-date voter rolls without adequate chain-of-custody measures.
A recent mail-in-ballot experiment by CBS This Morning demonstrated how flawed the process turned out to be, with three percent never showing up.
Others have pointed out that with no postmarks on government-provided postage-paid return envelopes, it will be difficult if not impossible to determine if certain ballots were mailed on time or after the required legal deadline. This is also a possibility of chicanery between point A and point B on both ends.
If the Democrats have their way, they will force mail-in voting on the entire country. The potential legislation would never see the light of day if it favored Republicans or was down the middle.
In a July 30 appearance on Tucker Carlson Tonight, Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis summed up the chaos that will likely accompany universal mail-in voting, which has already failed various beta-tests.
“It’s absolutely a disaster. And you don’t need more studies, you don’t need more debates about it to just look at just what’s going in New York where even the Washington Post called it a total train wreck. President Trump highlighted that today. We don’t even know the results of one district, and the Democrats think that this is somehow 95 days before the presidential national election, we can implement universal vote by mail, and we’ll get the results on election day or even close to it.
“You look at Paterson, N.J., where one out of every five ballots was discarded for being fraudulent, and there were reports of massive amounts of mail-in ballots that were just left in apartment buildings, and didn’t get to the residents. You look at what’s happening in Pennsylvania. You look at the Democrats who and their allies who are suing in dozens of states to try [to] have the election ballots to be counted days and 10 days and days after election day.
If we can stand in line at a grocery store or hardware store, we can stand in line at the polls to vote.
President @realDonaldTrump is RIGHT that universal, unmonitored vote-by-mail would be a DISASTER, and we’re already seeing evidence of that across the country. ⬇️ @TeamTrump pic.twitter.com/ai1uNjQi7k

“This is something where you’re talking about the Democrats wanting to destroy the pillars of American society, the family, the church. It’s also the civil society, the peaceful transition of power, the elections that are by the people, of the people, for the people. This is what started with the corrupt Obama administration not allowing the peaceful transition of power to President Trump when he was still president-elect; they tried to do this through the Russia hoax, they tried to do this with the witch hunt impeachment, and now because they haven’t successfully gotten rid of President Trump, they’re trying to undermine our vote and the sanctity of our election and our franchise through universal vote by mail which is a complete disaster.
“We’re already seeing the results, and it’s only the Democrats that want to remove election safeguards, and they want to push out this universal vote by mail under the auspices of the coronavirus. If we can stand in line at a grocery store, at a hardware store, we can stand in line to vote.”
