The argument against being forced to wear protective face masks was summed up by one young woman in a short but scathing video.

Twitter users gave the woman a virtual standing ovation and agreed that her anti-mask rant won the internet after the video was shared by YouTuber Jordan Sather.

“Oh! My apologies. I just got back from a full day of being a good person,” the unidentified woman in the video quipped as she removed the face mask.

“I love my mask!” she enthusiastically added, saying it was a “simple yet effective way to display my righteousness.”

She sarcastically continued with her mask-wearing rebuttal in the less than two-minute message.

“Am I concerned that two children in China dropped dead because they were forced to wear masks in gym class? Nope,” she said.

“Am I concerned that we’re creating a generation of children who will be socially awkward and conditioned to fear their fellow man? No,” she continued. “Am I concerned that I’m contributing to a socialist technocracy that will enslave the global population? Not even a little bit.”

She also dismissed concern that the face mask is “symbolic of my compliance with social conditioning that will eventually lead to the forced vaccination of every man, woman and child on planet earth.”

“And why am I not concerned, you ask?” she said.

“I’m not concerned because I decided a long time ago that shallow insignificant gestures are a much easier way to showcase my morality than actually being moral,” she mocked.

“Because in order to be a real good person, I’ve got to stand up to a real bad person and I don’t like standing up to or for anything. I decided that it’s easier to trick my own mind into thinking that compliance is a virtue instead of what compliance actually is: Cowardice,” she said.

The young woman explained that she prefers to “float through life completely ignorant of the fact that every socialist takeover” always starts the same, naming “government overreach, public shaming, censorship and a toilet paper shortage” as signs.

“Don’t believe me? Google ‘toilet paper shortage and communist Russia,'” she suggested. “Did you think you were having a unique experience?”

“I prefer to pretend that history never repeats itself so that I can stand by and turn a blind eye every time history repeats itself,” she continued.”I prefer to call anyone who speaks up, fights back or stands their ground a lunatic or a conspiracy theorist so that I don’t feel obligated to do my own research. Research takes away from me-time.”

“And lastly,” she concluded, donning her face covering again, “I prefer to put on my mask and stand among a sea of masks so that I never have to be seen, be free or feel the deep, dark shadows that lurk within me.”

The debate over the wearing of face protecting masks amid the coronavirus pandemic has been an ongoing one, with advocates for and against the coverings and the government mandates requiring their wear clashing on social media and in person where the situations have sometimes turned violent.

A disgruntled pizza shop customer destroyed a glass display case recently because another person was not wearing a mask. In California, a woman tossed her hot coffee at one man over a mask argument that led to an assault.

And as people are encouraged in some cities to report the non-mask wearers to authorities, hundreds and even thousands of Black Lives Matter and anti-police protesters are never reprimanded for failing to wear a face covering or social distance. CNN analyst and former Homeland Security official, Juliette Kayyem, even suggested airlines begin to permanently ban passengers who refuse to comply with mask rules.

The anti-mask rant video shared on twitter garnered plenty of attention amid the ongoing debate. Many Twitter users applauded the woman in the video for her tongue-in-cheek takedown of the argument.
