Explosive unsealed court documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein/Ghislaine Maxwell sex trafficking investigation have caused #BillClintonIsAPedo to trend on Twitter Sunday, making it the top item in the politics category on the social media network.

Most media outlets have ignored the revelations, which would be massive headline news if a past or present Republican president was implicated in the allegations.

Twitter users jumped on the Epstein-Clinton connection, however, particularly in the context of the media trying to bury the story because it reflects poorly on Clinton specifically and Democrats generally.

Some Twitterville voices initially claimed the platform was trying to suppress or throttle the trend, which may have been the case, and which prompted many users to redouble their efforts to get traction for the hashtag. (** Language warning)

Among the material released into the public domain is a transcript of a 2011 conversation between Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre and her lawyers.

In the document that was part of her 2015 defamation lawsuit against Maxwell that was later settled, Giuffre says she spotted Bill Clinton on Epstein’s private island which has acquired tawdry nicknames that include “Orgy Island” and “Pedo Island.”

She claims that the former Democrat president was there with Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and “two young girls from New York.”

She added during the interview that orgies took place on the island.

Giuffre also alleged that Epstein told her that Clinton owed him some unspecified favors.

Clinton has denied ever setting foot on the Epstein-owned Little St. James Island, however, although he reportedly flew on Epstein’s private plane multiple times, an aircraft that was dubbed the Lolita Express. The number of flights are in dispute, however.

In 2015 as noted above, Donald Trump predicted that Bill Clinton would have “a lot of problems coming up with the famous island.”

Giuffre, then age 15, met Maxwell when the teen was working at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach. Maxwell invited her to Epstein’s mansion nearby, and the rest is history. Trump later banned Epstein from the resort.

Epstein died while in federal custody in August, and Maxwell is behind bars awaiting trial.
