The left’s targeted campaign against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is truly something to behold as November grows larger in the windshield.

It’s no secret that Florida will be key to the outcome of the presidential election, and Democrats and their media allies have been attacking DeSantis, a Trump ally, on just about every decision he has made in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

And while that can be dismissed as politics in the year 2020, when CNN anchor Chris Cuomo engages in the practice, it takes on an entirely different perspective — after all, this is the same talking head who said he was “wowed” by the actions of brother Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

Responding to a tweet from The Hill on Vice President Mike Pence visiting Florida and commending DeSantis “for the strong and steady leadership that you provide,” Cuomo tweeted: “Head of task force praising gov who mishandled pandemic.”

While Florida is experiencing a COVID-19 surge, the Sunshine State has experienced nearly 27,000 fewer deaths than the state of New York, which has 2 million fewer residents.

And there has been some controversy over reporting statistics in Florida, with a recent report that more than 400 labs have been reporting 100% positivity rate, which means every single person tested was positive. There are also rumblings about people getting positive test results, even though they never actually took the test.

Yet, Gov. Cuomo is held up as presidential timber, while the left calls for DeSantis to resign.

Keep in mind that not only was New York the epicenter of the pandemic, but that a disastrous decision by Gov. Cuomo appears to have precipitated thousands of nursing home deaths.

The Democratic governor issued a March 25 order requiring nursing homes to take in COVID-19 patients, and while he essentially overrode the order when he issued a new directive on May 10 stating that hospitals can’t send patients back to nursing homes unless they tested negative for the virus, the damage had been done.

Citing the state’s health department, Fox News reported Tuesday that through June, roughly 7,900 people have either been confirmed or presumed dead from COVID-19 in nursing homes in New York.

Yet, brother Chris Cuomo had this to say to his brother in one of the puff interviews aired by CNN:

“I hope you are able to appreciate what you did in your state and what it means for the rest of the country now and what it will always mean to those who love and care about you the most. I’m wowed by what you did, and more importantly, I’m wowed by how you did it.”

Fittingly, the CNN anchor was eviscerated on social media… here’s a small sampling of the responses from Twitter:
