As presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden spoke at an event in Delaware this Tuesday, Associated Press reporters captured a photo of the notes in his hand. And as seen below, the notes seemed to show that he’s had potential VP pick Sen. Kamala Harris on his mind:

Besides containing a bunch of mindless platitudes such as “tell the truth” and “take responsibility” — neither of which he’s actually done — the notes also featured some observations specifically about Harris.

“Harris’ name was scrawled across the top, followed by five talking points. ‘Do not hold grudges.’ ‘Campaigned with me & Jill.’ ‘Talented.’ ‘Great help to campaign.’ ‘Great respect for her,'” the AP reported.

Notes about no other potential vice presidential pick were included, raising prospects that Biden may be on the verge of choosing the gaslighting senator as his VP.

The photo was snapped on the same day, July 28, that Politico erroneously ran a report claiming Biden “chose Kamala Harris to become his running mate for the 2020 election on Aug. 1” …

“Joe Biden chose Kamala Harris to become his running mate for the 2020 election on Aug. 1, two weeks before the Democratic National Convention, after keeping his choice close to the chest for months,” the false report read.

“In his announcement, Biden called Harris ‘a worthy opponent and a worthy running mate,’ alluding to the pair’s rivalry during the earlier stages of the Democratic primary. She will bring her experience as a prosecutor, household name recognition, and skill as a debator to the ticket.”

The report was immediately corrected after being called out by critics, though it left a number of questions.

Is it possible Politico’s been in touch with Biden privately and that he’d told the outlet in advance of his upcoming pick? That would certainly explain the outlet ability’s to predict exactly what he’ll say about Harris come August 1st.

Or is it rather that Politico’s been writing up reports on each potential VP. To save themselves time, sometimes media outlets write draft reports for each possible outcome. Prior to the 2016 election, for instance, some outlets drafted early reports announcing then-Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton as the winner.

All this came a day after reports emerged that former Democrat Sen. Chris Dodd, a member of Biden’s vice presidential search committee, has expressed concerns about Harris.

According to an anonymous donor who spoke with Politico, Dodd recently asked Harris about the time she’d reportedly “ambushed” Biden during the first Democrat primary debate last year, and the response he received reportedly stunned him.

“She laughed and said, ‘that’s politics.’ She had no remorse,” he reportedly told the donor.

“Dodd felt it was a gimmick, that it was cheap,” the donor said.

Politico added, “The person added that Dodd’s concerns about Harris were so deep that he’s helped elevate California Rep. Karen Bass during the vetting process, urging Biden to pick her because ‘she’s a loyal No. 2. And that’s what Biden really wants.’ Through an aide, Dodd declined to comment. Advisers to Harris also declined to comment.”

During the first Democrat primary debate on June 26, 2019, Harris ruthlessly attacked Biden over his prior opposition to so-called desegregation busing.

Watch:

“When Vice President Biden was in the United States Senate working with segregationists to oppose busing, which was the vehicle by which we would integrate America’s public schools, had I been in the United States Senate at that time I would have been on the other side of the aisle,” she said.

“Had those segregationists had their way, I would not be a member of the United States Senate, Cory Booker would not be a member of the United States Senate, and President Obama would not have been in a position to nominate [Biden] to the place he holds.”

She then trotted out her money-grabbing “little girl” attack.

“There was a little girl in California who was part of the second class to integrate her public schools and she was bussed to school every day. That little girl was me. So I will tell you that on this subject, it cannot be an intellectual debate. … We have to take it seriously,” she said.

Biden is expected to make his formal VP announcement during the first week of August.

“I’m going to have a choice in the first week in August, and I promise I’ll let you know when I do,” he told reporters after the event in Delaware.
