As New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has been busy quoting Karl Marx, going after open bars and restaurants and wasting taxpayer funds to protect his beloved Black Lives Matter mural, the citizens of the Big Apple have been busy being victimized.

Case in point: Viral surveillance footage from a bodega in Manhattan recorded on July 7th shows a Mexican immigrant local, Victor Martinez Medina, being knocked out cold as his 22-year-old daughter is savagely beaten by a mob of suspects.

“The truth is it all happened very fast. I just started to feel punches all over. They just grabbed me,” Medina said afterward to the New York Daily News.

“Everything is fuzzy. [My wife] says I was thrown on the floor, and I don’t even remember that. I just remember them coming and starting to punch and kick me. But after that, I don’t remember anything.”

The assault was reportedly sparked by “ongoing tensions” between Medina’s daughter and another woman. But while it’s typical for men and women alike to beef among themselves, it’s neither typical nor acceptable for them to lash out violently.

According to Medina’s wife, Rosa Santo, she’d been outside the bodega when the mob of hooligans suddenly showed up, rushed into the store and began the assault.

“It was not what Medina and his wife … expected when they went out to grab milk at the neighborhood store,” the Daily News reported.

Medina was so badly assaulted and knocked out that the couple’s daughter reportedly yelled out, “They killed my dad!”

“I was in shock. I thought they had killed him. He was covered in blood. There was broken glass everywhere. Oh Lord, Holy Spirit, I was worried they were going to come back,” Santo said.

Her daughter was also brutally punched, kicked and struck in the head with bottles, though not completely knocked out.

As of Friday, three of the suspects — Devonte Phillips, 21, Tyquan Dupont, 22, and Tyrone Lawrence, 26 — had been identified, while three remained unidentified. None had been arrested.

“Like every person who comes to this country, I just hoped to create a better quality of life … but you don’t think about all the things you will run into,” Medina said.

Especially in NYC, where crime is a feature, and the city’s mayor is too busy virtue-signaling over the faulty, radical BLM movement to notice what’s happening.

Four people were shot in three separate incidents in Brooklyn just this past Thursday evening and early Friday morning alone. Four days earlier another four had been shot during another spate of shootings late Monday evening and early Tuesday morning.

Since Memorial Day, there have in fact been at least 400 shootings and 75 murders in NYC, with all of the murder victims reportedly being black:

And while it’s unclear exactly how many assaults there have been, there have certainly been a lot of them, including the assault on Medina and his daughter.

Last week the thug seen below assaulted a woman as she was pushing her baby in a stroller:

And on Wednesday a report emerged of a suspect who’d “sexually assaulted two women within the span of eight days at the same Midtown Manhattan subway station.”

“Both attacks occurred in the entrance of the West 57th Street and Seventh Avenue subway station, police said. During both assaults, the man grabbed the victims while exposing himself and demanding sex acts, an NYPD spokesperson said,” Patch reported.

But none of this ever seems to pique the attention of de Blasio, a far-left Democrat who’s been too busy with other matters, including using Twitter to constantly bash President Donald Trump and his administration, and call out “sexism.”

Priorities …

For those seeking to live a truly peaceful life in a city where the mayor is actually focused on keeping them safe, you may want to consider following the advice of conservative commentator Dan Bongino.

Get out and run like hell.
