New violence broke out in another liberal Pacific Northwest city, Seattle, on Sunday, as rioters and looters broke into several stores and clashed with police, injuring at least 12 officers.
Demonstrators had gathered for a march through downtown but then the protest devolved into vandals destroying property and attacking police officers, hospitalizing one, Fox News reports.
In addition, police officials said rioters broke out several windows at the department’s East Precinct and ignited a small fire using an incendiary device. The flames were quickly extinguished, however.

Reports said that the protest began between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. at the intersection of 3rd St. and Pine Ave. Seattle Department of Transportation surveillance cameras captured video of people gathering and the crowd growing.

A short time later, local journalist Katie Daviscourt captured video of “Antifa militants and Black Lives Matter” demonstrators “protesting against” the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency.
She noted that “Antifa militants are riding around armed in unmarked cars.”

Daviscourt’s video shows some people communicating with others via portable radio, adding an air of organization to the protest.
Later, she posted video of people breaking into an Amazon Go store in the downtown area that was retweeted by Donald Trump Jr., while others ‘tagged’ the outside building facade with graffiti.
At one point, a masked man holds up his arm and demands that Daviscourt stop videoing him and demands she “get the f**k out of here.”

“Antifa Militants and Black Lives Matter rioters are breaking into Amazon Go Downtown Seattle,” Daviscourt tweeted. “This protest has turned into a riot.”
Around 6:30 p.m. local time, Seattle Police tweeted that the crowd was proceeding down Pike St. and that two individuals had been arrested. The department noted further that some protesters threw rocks, bottles, and other objects at officers, injuring one badly enough to be transported to a nearby hospital.
“Large crowd continuing to march on Pike Street from downtown. Two individuals were arrested outside of the West Precinct. Demonstrators threw rocks, bottles and other items at officers. At least one officer has been transported to the hospital,” the department tweeted.

About a dozen officers were hurt in the melee, with one hospitalized for neck injuries, according to KOMO.
At some point, police began blocking off the entrance to Interstate 5 so demonstrators could not access it, KING5 reported.
Seattle PD added that demonstrators traveled from Westlake Park to the Municipal Courthouse before heading north to the West Precinct, “leaving behind a trail of property destruction.”

“These are criminal acts, not peaceful protests,” the department added in a tweet.
Other criminal acts of looting have been captured on video recently as well, including one from WFLA showing people breaking into what appears to be a health and beauty store and carrying out merchandise.
The video, tweeted by actor James Woods, was captioned, “Hungry Americans foraging for bread. Sadly this beauty supply store was out.”
The reference to bread likely was in response to comments socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York made last week claiming that people loot to feed themselves and their families.
“Do we think this has to do with the fact that there’s record unemployment in the United States right now? The fact that people are at a level of economic desperation that we have not seen since the Great Recession?” AOC said, without tying the spike in unemployment to orders from governors and mayors to shut down businesses due to coronavirus.
“Maybe this has to do with the fact that people aren’t paying their rent and are scared to pay their rent and so they go out, and they need to feed their child and they don’t have money,” she continued, claiming that “they’re put in a position where they feel like they either need to shoplift some bread or go hungry that night.”
Conservative commentator Eric Bolling retweeted Wood’s post and tagged Ocasio-Cortez, writing, “What say you @AOC?”

Another liberal Pacific Northwest city, Portland, has been a cauldron of violence and unrest for nearly two months as well.
Democratic Mayor Ted Wheeler has rejected Trump administration offers of assistance and has even gone so far as to demand that all federal agents leave the city.
The best thing they can do is stay inside their building, or leave Portland altogether. Our goal is to end these violent demonstrations quickly and safely. And in the meantime, I asked him to clean up the graffiti on local federal facilities.
