Is everybody equal in New York City — or are some more (or less) equal than others? This is the question that one pro-Trump non-profit appears to be trying to answer.

In a letter submitted Thursday to NYC Mayor Bill de Blasio, the women of Women for America First requested that, in light of the mayor allowing Black Lives Matter activists to paint a taxpayer-funded BLM mural in front of Trump Tower on 5th Avenue, the mayor allow them to paint their own mural.

[O]ur organization, too, would like to paint a mural of our motto — ‘Engaging, Inspiring and Empowering Women to Make a Difference!’ — on Fifth Avenue, or another similar street within the city’s jurisdiction,” the ladies wrote.

In the event your Honor does not allow our organization to use Fifth Avenue, we propose painting our mural on FDR Drive outside Gracie’s Mansion. Alternatively, we are amenable to painting our mural on 42nd Street near Times Square, or even City Hall Park should you prefer.”

Sounds fair, right?

View the letter below:

The ladies even humbly offered to “use the identical color paint and font as the Black Lives Matter organization,” pay for the paint themselves and limit the mural’s square footage to the same amount of footage that was used for the BLM mural.

Keep in mind that the BLM mural painted on Fifth Avenue that same afternoon — and with the mayor’s personal help — was funded by taxpayers, as noted in angry tweets posted by President Donald Trump.

Look:

Of course, the Women for America First would need some city help.

“Women for America First is cognizant that we will likely need local authorities to assist us in traffic diversion and parking restrictions while the painting is completed. Of course, we are amenable to completing the painting at any hour most convenient for your Honor and the City of New York,” they wrote.

The letter was signed by executive director Kylie Jane Kremer and included a request that a response be provided within three business days.

In a tweet, Kremer warned that the group has retained legal counsel “should de Blasio continue infringing upon our Constitutional rights.” In other words, if he doesn’t comply with their fair demands, they’re going to sue.

And judging by the tweet below, it appears the lawyer they’ve chosen is Ron Coleman, a famed lawyer, journalist and legal scholar who’s an expert on the First Amendment.

What’s unclear is whether de Blasio will comply with the group’s fair demands, thus proving that true equality does indeed reign in New York City, or whether he’ll play hardball, thus proving he’s a far-left zealot who views some as more equal than others.

As it stands, the mayor appears to be among those who believe those associated with the radically far-left Black Lives Matter movement deserve to benefit from certain additional rights afforded to only them and not the rest of the American people.

Case in point: Speaking on CNN late Thursday, the mayor suggested all large gatherings — parades, fairs, anti-lockdown protests — are banned, save for BLM protests.

“This is a historic moment of change. We have to respect that but also say to people the kinds of gatherings we’re used to, the parades, the fairs — we just can’t have that while we’re focusing on health right now,” he told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer.

His decision to grant rights to only certain people indicates that he’ll most likely ignore or outright reject the request from Women for America First, meaning he’ll probably soon be facing yet another lawsuit.
