Trump’s accomplished way more for blacks, so why does BLM want him out and Joe Biden in?

President Donald Trump has done much more for the black community in roughly three years than his likely Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, did during several terms in the Senate and two terms as Barack Obama’s back-up, so it’s not clear why Black Lives Matter wouldn’t work hard to reelect him, John Philip Sousa, IV noted in a Monday column in the Washington Examiner.

In addition, Sousa observed that the BLM movement appears to be selective in its outrage as well as responses to incidents involving the deaths of black people, including children.

“If all black lives mattered to Black Lives Matter, why weren’t they in Chicago last month when Mekhi James, a three-year-old black toddler, was shot and killed? Young Mekhi was just one of 100 people shot in Chicago over a single weekend,” he wrote, adding that a 13-year-old girl was also killed by gunfire over the Independence Day holiday.

That same question was being asked Monday by the black father of an eight-year-old girl who was killed in Atlanta over the weekend allegedly by other blacks.

To that point, Sousa noted that BLM also supports the defunding and abolition of all police, which he says is “a policy that would surely increase the number of such killings.”

The Stars and Stripes Forever PAC founder then noted that instead, BLM supporters were in Tulsa recently protesting against President Trump who was in the city to kick-off his in-person reelection campaign rallies.

That makes little sense, Sousa writes, considering all that the president has done to specifically help the black community.

Ticking them off, the columnist-businessman noted some of Trump’s accomplishments and actions:

— The pre-coronavirus economy under Trump was the best it has been since the late 1960s, as unemployment for blacks and other persons of color tanked to their lowest levels;

— In addition, wages for blacks and other minority groups rose to their highest level in decades;

— Trump signed historic criminal justice reform long-sought by the black community, something that Obama didn’t do though he could have, considering the legislation Trump signed received wide bipartisan support — while Biden actually supported a highly controversial criminal sentencing bill signed by then-President Bill Clinton in 1994;

— Trump’s economic policies have moved more blacks from welfare to work;

— He signed legislation allotting more federal financial assistance to historically black colleges;

— Trump is battling powerful Left-wing teacher’s unions to provide more school choice for black families trying to escape failing inner-city public schools.

The president also acted on a request from TV personality Kim Kardashian in pardoning Alice Marie Johnson, a grandmother imprisoned for life on a first-time drug charge.

“Yet Trump is somehow the problem. BLM wants Trump out of the White House in favor of Biden, who did none of these things during his six terms in the Senate and two terms as vice president. In fact, in many cases, Joe was part of the problem,” Sousa writes.

Under the 1994 crime bill that he supported as a U.S. senator, Biden “led the charge” for more mandatory sentencing, which led to more black men being sent to prison, the columnist noted.

Economically, “[t]he Obama-Biden administration’s answer to people trapped in poverty was free cellphones and more food stamps,” he added. “Obama-Biden’s economic policies led to a stagnating economy, fewer jobs, a low rate of black small-business startups, and a widening wealth gap between black people and just about everyone else.”

Also:

— Biden has a history of supporting racial segregation and making racially-insensitive statements like he did earlier this spring during an interview with Charlemagne Tha God, when he said any African-American who did not vote for him “ain’t black;”

— In the 1970s, Biden opposed court-ordered bussing of black children to mostly white schools, saying at the time, “Unless we do something about this, my children are going to grow up in a jungle” (and while this was some 45 years ago, it should be noted that BLM and its supporters are tearing down statues to political and military figures who lived centuries ago);

— Biden sides with long-time Democrat patriarchs, the teacher’s unions, who oppose school choice.

“And 10 years ago this week, Biden heaped praise upon his mentor, the late Ku Klux Klan leader and senator, Robert Byrd, as a ‘mentor,’ ‘friend,’ and ‘guide,’” Sousa wrote.

“Despite all this, it’s Trump that BLM wants out and Biden they want in. So is it really black lives that matter to Black Lives Matter? Or is it the socialist economic policies that Biden has increasingly identified with since he started his campaign for president?” he added.
