President Trump is fed up with Fox News Channel and is calling for an exodus of viewers, specifically on weekend afternoons.

Following a segment on the network reporting that his poll numbers are trailing Joe Biden in swing states, the president unleashed his comments on Twitter, accusing Fox News of becoming like CNN and “MSNDC,” his nickname for the network he sees as a Democrat mouthpiece.

Trump railed against Fox News which he said “gladly puts up the phony suppression polls as soon as they come out” in a tweet on Sunday.

“We are leading in the REAL polls because people are sick & tired of watching the Democrat run cities, in all cases, falling apart. Also, now 96 percent Approval Rating in the Republican Party,” he added “Another 2016!”

Trump followed with another tweet a few minutes later, saying the network’s “weekend afternoons is the worst!”

“Watch @OANN & @newsmax instead. Much better!” he added, directing viewers to watch Newsmax or One America News Network instead.

The president’s complaints followed a segment on “America’s News HQ” Sunday in which Wall Street Journal editor John Bussey spoke to Fox News anchor Eric Shawn about “a number of head winds” Trump is facing in his reelection bid, weighing in on the “gap” between him and his opponent, presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

“And the public sees the president holding these rallies, which are fairly divisive in language including the one that he held at Mt. Rushmore, not unifying language, pretty divisive, and these are essentially super spreader events, convened for the purposes of rallying support around the president,” Bussey said, speaking on the president’s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

“That doesn’t seem to be going over well with folks either. So he has a number of head winds,” he added. “I think there’s an effort to sort of change the topic of the conversation away from the coronavirus, away from the millions of people who are out of a job as a result of the fact that there’s no national plan for dealing with the virus. It’s been left up to the states.”

Shawn brought up the increased rate of positive cases of COVOD-19 in states that Trump won in 2016, such as Texas and Florida, turning to a CNBC/Change Research survey which found the president trailing the former vice president among voters in key states of Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.

“In the numbers that you just cited, Eric, there are some surprises,” Bussey responded.

“It wasn’t long ago that the president was leading in Florida and was close in some of these other states, but again, it’s the gap between Biden leading and the president falling behind is a reflection of the polls basically also showing a disapproval of the kind of the way the coronavirus has been handled,” he said.

“Now, the Electoral College could go a very different way, but it is hard for you to come up with numbers the president needs to win at the moment,” Bussey concluded, adding that “things can change.”

“We’re still many months away from the election. It’s entirely possible that the mood of the public could change very quickly,” he said. “But at the moment, it’s hard to come up with the number of Electoral College votes that the president needs to win, without taking some of these battleground states, and the conversation, Eric, among the public is not about monuments. It is about gee, can I go back to work? Is there a job for me? Am I going to be able to take public transport? Are my kids safe going back to school, with the coronavirus spreading, not being abated?”

Minutes after the segment ended, Shawn told viewers that Trump had tweeted about Fox News and the polling numbers that were highlighted.

“The president just tweeted out about it. We did a segment on the polls. He said that we aired the, quote, ‘phony suppression polls,’ and he’s leading in the real polls,” the Fox News anchor said. “It shows you how the presidential race is going full swing, even though it is a July 4th weekend.”
