The St. Louis couple forced to defend their upscale home in a private neighborhood from a Black Lives Matter mob was all the rage on the internet Monday.

Mark and Patricia McCloskey, a husband and wife personal injury lawyer team, held the mob at bay with guns after hundreds broke through a metal gate and marched onto their property, and the couple was eviscerated online for their actions.

Dana Loesch, the former spokesperson for the National Rifle Association, appeared on Fox News’ “Tucker Carlson Tonight” to stress that the McCloskeys — who’ve said that they were terrified — did not commit any crimes in trying to defend themselves.

Pointing out that local prosecutors have essentially kowtowed to violent rioters, she said the couple was simply protecting their home.

“I want to make this very clear for everyone, this area is private property,” Loesch said, noting that it was a gated community, a private residential area.

“These protesters were not peacefully walking past anything,” she pointed out. “These individuals mowed down a gate. An iron gate.”

“So I dare say, the legacy media can stop trying to gaslight everyone into thinking that private property damage didn’t happen,” Loesch continued. “And they were screaming threats at this couple. When you are damaging private property, when you are trespassing, you are ceasing to engage in peaceful protest.

Carlson said there was “zero evidence” that the McCloskeys are racist, as some in the liberal media are suggesting.

Media Research Center did an analysis of how the media reported on the story, with the narrative being that a white couple in an upscale St. Louis neighborhood pointed firearms at “peaceful protesters.”

There was no mention of the mob breaking through the gate, or being on private property:

When reporting on the incident Monday night, ABC and NBC intentionally hid those facts as they insisted the mob was just made up of “peaceful protesters,” and demonized the couple for protecting their home and lives with guns.

Loesch replied that after weeks of violent destruction by the rage mob in America, there was no reason not to expect the worst. She also reminded viewers that a former black police chief, David Doran, was murdered by violent rioters just down the street.

Putting politics aside, she said everyone has a Second Amendment right to defend themselves.

“People wanted to defund the police, this is what defunding the police looks like,” she said. “This is what the Second Amendment looks like, and if people want to continue pushing communities to get rid of the police and protection for citizenry, the citizens are going to be the backlash.”

In his opening monologue, Carlson nailed it when he said it’s up to Americans to stand up for their country in these troubling times, before stressing that many are.

“For more than a month, mobs of violent crazy people have roamed this country terrorizing citizens and destroying things,” he said. “No one has stopped them from doing that and they’ve continued and become stronger. Politicians now cower before the mob. Corporate America mouths their slogans. The educational cartel — enforced on your children — enforces their demands. Police officers emasculated and restrained, watch it all from the sidelines unable to help.”

He said small groups of Americans are beginning to come forward to defend their history and their culture.

“Antifa does not own these things, neither does Black Lives Matter,” Carlson added. “They have no right to destroy them.”

He also noted that the “mob” is not as fearsome as it may seem, before stressing that what we are seeing is not about racial justice.

“Tear off the masks, turn down the volume and you see it very clearly,” Carlson said. “The mob is not fearsome, it’s pathetic — these are pampered children play acting at revolution, cowards. That’s why they move in packs.”

Referencing the McCloskeys, the Fox News host shared details that the media had little interest in reporting, that the mob threatened to murder the couple and kill the family’s dog. That they called the police and the neighborhood security patrol but no one came, and they had no choice but to protect themselves with legally registered firearms.

“It worked,” Carlson said. “Met finally by citizens who dared defend themselves, the mob retreated and melted away, but the terror did not end. The site of ordinary Americans standing up for themselves and their home enraged our professional class and they immediately put the McCloskeys’ name and home address all over the internet. Threats poured in.”

And not one official stepped forward to protect the family.
