The Department of Justice charged four men with destruction of federal property after they tried to tear down a statue of former President Andrew Jackson near the White House last week.

The felony charge carries a maximum jail sentence of 10 years. The four accused felons are:
- Lee Michael Cantrell of Virginia
- Connor Matthew Judd of Washington, D.C.
- Ryan Lane of Maryland
- Graham Lloyd of Maine.
It is believed that all four suspects are white. Mugshots have not been released.
In a statement, the Department of Justice said: “The United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia will not stand idly by and allow our national monuments to be vandalized and destroyed.”
It then explained how it arrived at the charges:
“An June 22, 2020, the four men — along with other unidentified individuals — damaged and attempted to tear down the statue depicting Andrew Jackson located in Lafayette Square.
Cantrell was captured on video attempting to pry the statue off its base with a wooden board and trying to pull the statue down with the aid of a yellow strap.
Judd is seen on video trying to pull down the statue. And Lane is seen on video affixing a rope to one part of the statue and then pulling on another rope tied to the statue.”
The four men were charged pursuant to a June 26 executive order President Trump signed aimed at protecting federal monuments by prosecuting thugs from Antifa and Black Lives Matter who destroy them.
While destroying federal property is already illegal, Trump signed the executive order to underscore that further lawlessness will not be tolerated.

Federal monuments are being destroyed all around the nation in left-wing cities run by Democrats. Why? Because Democrat politicians refuse to enforce longstanding bipartisan legislation that Democrats and Republicans signed into law decades ago.
If you want to remove a statue, file a petition with local lawmakers and get it done the right way. Don’t just go out with a rope and destroy whatever you feel like. Those statues are federal property; they belong to all taxpaying Americans.
“Over the last 5 weeks, there has been a sustained assault on the life and property of civilians, law enforcement officers, government property, and revered American monuments such as the Lincoln Memorial,” President Trump said.
“Many of the rioters, arsonists, and left-wing extremists who have carried out and supported these acts have explicitly identified themselves with ideologies — such as Marxism — that call for the destruction of the United States system of government.”

Trump underscored: “Key targets in the violent extremists’ campaign against our country are public monuments, memorials, and statues. Their selection of targets reveals a deep ignorance of our history.”
Naturally, race-baiting leftists on MSNBC slammed the executive order, claiming it was “giving the green light to those who want to murder black people.”
For the record, there’s no death sentence for destroying federal statues, so what are they bleating about?
Grievance-mongering left-wing “journalists” like Andrew Feinberg also accused Trump of trying to get “someone hurt or killed by vigilantes” by tweeting wanted posters of criminals breaking federal laws.
Feinberg then disingenuously claimed that dismantling federal monuments is “at most vandalism.”
President @realDonaldTrump is tweeting out a bunch of “wanted” posters of (mostly black/brown) people who, at most, allegedly committed (or attempted) vandalism. He’s either going to get someone hurt/killed by vigilantes or get the USPP/FBI tip lines flooded w/ bad info, or both.

For the record, the tweets President Trump shared were not “mostly black/brown people.”
Trump tweeted wanted posters of nine white suspects and six black suspects. This undermines leftist narrative that he was singling out “black/brown” felons.
Any “journalist” who dismisses this as “vandalism” is lying to himself — but more importantly — they’re lying to you, the American public.
This is what remained after thugs in Portland, Oregon wrapped a statue of George Washington in an American flag, set it on fire, and then tore it down.
