Floridians give local county commission hell for new mask mandate: ‘We the people are waking up’

On Tuesday in Florida, the Palm Beach County Commission voted to mandate that all residents over the age of two begin wearing masks while out in public starting at 12:01 am Thursday morning.

In response, an assortment of local residents vociferously lambasted the commission reportedly for, among other things, “killing people,” “obeying the devil’s laws” and behaving like modern-day Nazis.

Ouch.

Watch some of the blowback below:

“You literally cannot mandate somebody to wear a mask, knowing that that mask is killing people,” one resident said. “It literally is killing people.”

“We the people are waking up, and we know what a citizen’s arrest is, because citizen’s arrests are already happening. And every single one of you that are obeying the devil’s laws are going to be arrested. And you, doctor, are going to be arrested for crimes against humanity.”

Another resident added, “The problem with humanity today is ignorance, arrogance and apathy. Keep taking the road of least resistance. Keep listening to the TV, brainwashing you from birth.”

A third one said, “They want to throw God’s wonderful breathing system out the door. You’re all turning your backs on it.”

And then a fourth one made it personal.

“Doctor, really I have many question marks about your degrees and what you really know. I’m sorry, ma’am, but I don’t think you’re worth of your credentials, and I’d ask suggestively that you go back to school and get educated,” she said.

While face masks have reportedly been shown to be the most effective tool in combating the spread of the deadly coronavirus, what the mainstream media won’t tell you is that these women aren’t necessarily wrong to be distrustful of the so-called “experts.”

The fact is that the “experts” are human like everybody else, and to err is human. And from performing a sudden about-face on masks — National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases Director Dr. Anthony Fauci originally recommended the American people not wear masks, then suddenly changed his tune months later — to endorsing risky behavior for clear-cut political reasons, the “experts” have erred repeatedly.

Even far-left MSNBC host Chris Hayes has admitted as much:

“Masks can come off while eating, drinking or exercising. As soon as that’s done, back on the mask goes,” The Palm Beach Post reported Wednesday, describing the county’s new mask rules in more detail.

“Restaurant? Mask. Grocery store? Mask. Your Uber or Lyft? Mask. Any business or establishment that is currently allowed to operate? Mask. These businesses also must place signs outside of their entrances that say ‘facial coverings required’ in English, Spanish and Haitian-Creole. Employees also must wear masks when interacting with the public.”

According to The Daily Beast, not everybody who spoke out Tuesday was distrustful of the experts. Some were just offended by the alleged discrimination.

“Others with medical conditions that make masks untenable felt the measure discriminated against them,” the outlet reported. “One woman offered a unique objection that drew a laugh from both sides. ‘I don’t wear a mask for the same reason I don’t wear underwear,’ she said. ‘Things got to breathe.'”

Another critic wondered how the mask mandate would be enforced given the push among Democrat politicians nationwide to “defund the police.”

“[W]hat’s going to happen when you get the call… ‘Oh, we got to defund the police, we got to get rid of them.’… Who’s going to arrest the people for [not] wearing stupid masks?… What are you going to do? How are you going to put the people down?” he reportedly asked.

He reportedly identified himself as Butch Dias and said he’s “an American patriot” who’d die for the flag and Constitution.

“You’ve disgraced me! You know why? You did not listen to we the people! You probably already have your orders already taken care of. You don’t really care. You could have at least faked it. You do not care about we the people. It’s pathetic,” he reportedly said.

“It breaks my heart, because I would die for that flag, I would die for this country, and I would die for the Constitution. And you guys are supposed to uphold the Constitution. But you know what? You didn’t. You let we the people down.”

Palm Beach County isn’t the only community to mandate masks. But unlike in North Carolina, the county has at least balanced its mask mandate by reopening virtually all businesses.

Over in North Carolina, meanwhile, far-left Democrat Gov. Roy Cooper has instituted a mask mandate but still refuses to reopen gyms, bars and other shuttered businesses.

“This has been devastating to a lot of businesses,” North Carolina bar owner Jason Ruth reportedly said this week. “Some businesses in the state aren’t going to reopen at all, and it will be more if something doesn’t change.”

But Cooper doesn’t appear to care.
