While you would be hard-pressed to believe it watching cable news these days, there really are two Americas.

There is the version portrayed nightly on your TV and computer screens, by a liberal media fully invested in a racially-divisive narrative ahead of the presidential election, and there is the America most of us live in.

An example of the latter world was captured in a video making the rounds on social media, featuring a black woman and her brother chasing down a younger black man, who appears to have just robbed an old white man.

“I’m going live because this is what black men need to do,” the woman said, out of breath as she attempts to keep up with a man she identified as her brother.

As seen in the clip, the brother is pursuing a younger man across the parking lot of a shopping center. It’s not clear when the incident took place, or where, although there is a reference to “Gothem” in the remarks, which could indicate New York City.

She explained that the younger man “just robbed an old white man for no reason.”

“You just robbed that man like that… and this is what we are fighting for right now,” the woman told the alleged robber as she caught up to him.

The brother sits the man down next to a light pole and demands to know where the money is, as the woman calls on someone to call the police.

The guy tried to play dumb, but the woman exclaimed, “We went right past you when we seen you robbing him! We seen you!”

The brother is not taking no for an answer and the younger man eventually digs the money out of his pocket.

At about that time, the older man drove up in his vehicle.

“Are you OK, sir?” the woman asked.

The brother is then seen giving the man a handful of cash.

The scene is not all that far-fetched, though incidents like this fail to make the news.

It’s the same world most of us live in. A world where we live, work and shop among a diverse group of people, and share a common sense of decency and understand the difference between right and wrong.

And above all else, are willing to extend a helping hand or stand with our neighbors in times of trouble.

It cannot be said enough that while there are racist people in this country, America is not a racist nation. Instead, it remains a country that offers greater opportunity to all, regardless of the color of your skin, than any nation on earth.

Not that the media is interested in that message.

With an eye on November and hatred of President Trump in their hearts, and deep concerns over some polling showing that Trump may have 30% or better support in the black community, the liberal media is tasked with a very different agenda.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the video that supports the idea that we have more in common than we may think.
