With entitled members of pampered Gen-Z actively engaged in the cultural cleansing of the United States, looking back on history through today’s hard left lens, leave it to someone who has experienced this before to put things into perspective.

A woman who said she is from Venezuela posted a video amid the insanity gripping American streets, where even statutes of Union generals who led the fight to free the slaves isn’t safe.

“Why do I even worry about some silly little statue coming down? Or some silly little street names changing? Why do I even care?” she asked.

“It’s because the last time I didn’t care,” the woman then said, answering her own question. “The last time, I didn’t care about this as a teenager — I have already lived through these things when I was living in Venezuela.”

She then detailed the changes she witnessed as a teen.

“Statutes came down, [Hugo] Chavez didn’t want that history this way. And then he changed the street names, then came the [school] curriculum. And then some movies couldn’t be shown on TV channels, and so on and so forth,” she said.

Talking to Americans, the woman pointed out that she has heard it said that these things can’t happen here.

“But always been on guard, never believe that something can’t happen to you,” she cautioned. “You need to guard your country, your society, or it will be destroyed.”

Having seen what socialism has done to Venezuela, once the richest country in South America, she knows of what she speaks.

“We didn’t believe it could happen to us, we Venezuelans,” she said. “Cubans warned us, and we were like, ‘We know what freedom is like, that’s not going to happen here.'”

“Yet, it happened,” she concluded.

The video ends with her warning that there are plenty of people “wanting to destroy the U.S. of A.”

Her video was tweeted in response to a tweet from President Trump on Venezuela.

Trump tweeted: “Unlike the radical left, I will ALWAYS stand against socialism and with the people of Venezuela. My Admin has always stood on the side of FREEDOM and LIBERTY and against the oppressive Maduro regime! I would only meet with Maduro to discuss one thing: a peaceful exit from power!”

The radical left first went after Confederate statues, but now no statue in America is safe. Be it George Washington, the father of the country, or Theodore Roosevelt, who was seen as progressive in his time.

The mob’s actions seemingly losing any rhyme or reason, with hatred for America, its history and all that it represents being the only apparent motivation.

As the destruction rains down, Americans sit quietly. Too quietly. There seems to be little stomach to fight for the nation’s heritage — which the hard left and their media allies insist is poisoned.

In large part because Americans have been discouraged by the biased media, certain that whatever action they take will be cast in the worst possible light. At a time when good is twisted to be bad, and bad sold as good, they aren’t entirely wrong.

Here’s a quick sampling of responses to the video from Twitter:
